Helmed by a passionate filmmaker Mohan Guruselva, ‘GodsJilla’ reimagines the rom-com space by blending mythology, fantasy, humour, and heart-warming romance. At its core lies the story of a heartbroken young man whose disillusionment with love sparks a celestial intervention, leading to a journey of self-discovery, redemption, and love.

Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS) hosted its 16th Annual Convocation Ceremony today at the Pallavaram Vels University Campus, Chennai, during which 4,992 graduates were conferred degrees across various disciplines. இந்தியாவின் சிறந்த கிரிக்கெட் வீரர்களில் ஒருவரான அஷ்வின், 537 டெஸ்ட் விக்கெட்டுகள், ஆறு டெஸ்ட் சதங்கள் உள்ளிட்ட பல சாதனைகளை புரிந்துள்ளார். 2011 உலகக் கோப்பை மற்றும் 2013 சாம்பியன்ஸ் டிரோபியில் இந்திய அணியின் வெற்றிக்கு முக்கிய பங்களிப்பு செய்தவர். 2016-இல் ICC Cricketer of the Year மற்றும் Test Cricketer of the Year விருதுகளையும் பெற்றார்.
2024 டிசம்பரில் சர்வதேச கிரிக்கெட்டில் இருந்து ஓய்வு பெற்ற அஷ்வின், இந்தியாவின் இரண்டாவது அதிக டெஸ்ட் விக்கெட் எடுக்கப்பட்டவர் என்ற பெருமையுடன் விளையாட்டை விட்டு வெளியேறினார். சமூக வலைதளங்கள் மூலம் இளைஞர்களை தொடர்ந்து ஊக்குவித்து வருகிறார். இவருக்கு மத்திய அரசு பதம்ஸ்ரீ விருதை வழங்கி கவுரவித்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

பொதுவுடைமை மற்றும் சமூக நீதி ஆகியவற்றில் ஆழமான பற்று கொண்ட திரைப்பட இயக்குநராக வெற்றிமாறன் தனக்கென ஒரு இடத்தை உருவாக்கியுள்ளார். ஆடுகளம், விசாரணை, அசுரன், விடுதலை போன்ற படங்கள் மூலம் தமிழ் சினிமாவுக்கு புதிய வரையறையை அளித்துள்ளார்.
அவரது ஆடுகளம் திரைப்படம் ஆறு தேசிய விருதுகள் பெற்றது. விசாரணை இந்தியாவின் ஆஸ்கர் பரிந்துரைக்கான உத்தியோகபூர்வத் தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்ட சிறந்தப் படமாகும். சமூக பிரச்சினைகளை ஆழமாக சித்தரிக்கும் அவரது படைப்புகள் உலக அளவில் பாராட்டைப் பெற்றுள்ளன.இவர்கள் செய்த சாதனைகளை பாராட்டி கவுரவ டாக்டர் பட்டம் வழங்கியதுவேல்ஸ் பல்கலைக்கழகம்.

விழாவில் உரையாற்றிய வேல்ஸ் பல்கலைக்கழகச் வேந்தர் டாக்டர் ஐசரி கே. கணேஷ்:

வேல்ஸ் பல்கலைக்கழகம் குறித்து

சென்னை வேல்ஸ் இன்ஸ்டிடியூட் ஆஃப் சயின்ஸ், டெக்னாலஜி அண்ட் அட்வான்ஸ்டு ஸ்டடீஸ் (VISTAS), 2008 ஆம் ஆண்டு இந்திய அரசின் மனிதவள மேம்பாட்டு அமைச்சகத்தால் (MHRD) பல்கலைக்கழக அந்தஸ்து பெற்றது. VAELS அறக்கட்டளையின் கீழ் இயங்கும் இப் பல்கலைக்கழகம், 100க்கும் மேற்பட்ட இளநிலைபடிப்பு, முதுகலை மற்றும் முனைவர் பட்டப் படிப்புகளை வழங்குகிறது.
மருத்துவம், பொறியியல், நர்சிங், மருந்தியல், சட்டம், வர்த்தகம், ஊடகம், கல்வி, கடல்சார் கல்வி, கணினி அறிவியல் போன்ற துறைகளில் பட்டப்படிப்புகளை வழங்குகிறது. UGC, AICTE, NMC, INC, PCI, BCI, DGS, NCTE போன்ற அமைப்புகளால் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட இப் பல்கலைக்கழகம் தற்போது 18,000க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்களையும் 1,100 பேராசிரியர்களையும் கொண்டுள்ளது. NAAC A++ தரச் சான்றிதழ் பெற்ற இப் பல்கலைக்கழகம், 11 NBA அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட பாடப்பிரிவுகளை வழங்கி, UGC 12(B) அந்தஸ்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளது. 2024 ஆம் ஆண்டுக்கான NIRF தரவரிசையில் 101–150 இடம் பிடித்ததுடன், மருந்தியல் துறை 61வது இடத்தை பெற்றுள்ளது.
