Dr. Kamal Haasan, President of Makkal Needhi Maiam, officially filed his nomination today for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections from Tamil Nadu. He has been nominated as a candidate by the DMK-led alliance.

Dr. Haasan submitted his nomination papers at the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in the presence of Hon’ble Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Thiru Udhayanidhi Stalin, and senior leaders of the alliance.

He was accompanied by Makkal Needhi Maiam Vice Presidents Dr. A.G. Mourya, IPS (Retd.), and R. Thangavelu, along with General Secretary A. Arunachalam, M.A., B.L., during the filing process before the Returning Officer.

The Tamil film industry was left in deep shock following the sudden and unexpected demise of director Vikram Sugumaran, known for his distinct voice and storytelling.
