குங்குமப்பூவும் கொஞ்சும் புறாவும் நூலின் ஆசிரியரும் இயக்குநருமான ராஜமோகன் ஏற்புரை ஆற்றி பேசும்போது,

நல்ல விமர்சனங்களை தந்த இந்தப்படம் ஒரு சிறந்த திரைக்கதை என்பதை கர்வத்துடன் சொல்லிக் கொள்வேன். இயக்குநராகும் ஆசையுடன் சென்னைக்கு வந்த என் அண்ணன் விபத்தில் இறந்து விட்டார். அதன் பிறகு நானும் என் தம்பியும் படிப்பை முடித்தோம். ஒரு கட்டத்தில் என் தம்பி என்னை சினிமாவுக்கு செல்ல ரொம்பவே ஊக்கம் கொடுத்து வற்புறுத்தினார். அப்போதுதான் இயற்கையே என்னை கவிதை, கதை எழுதுவதற்கு தயார்படுத்தியது. அதன்பின் சென்னை வந்து இயக்குநர் ராஜகுமாரனிடம் உதவி இயக்குநராக சில படங்களில் பணியாற்றினேன். அப்போது என்னை அவர் ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் விஜய் மில்டனிடம் அறிமுகப்படுத்தி வைத்தார். அவரிடம் பணியாற்றிய அனுபவத்தில் நான் இயக்குநராக மாறினேன். ஒளிப்பதிவையும் சேர்த்து கற்றுக் கொண்டேன். இந்த சினிமாவில் எனக்கு ஒரு நந்தவனம் அமைத்துக் கொடுத்தவர்கள் இவர்கள் இருவரும் தான். அவர்கள் இருவருக்கு நடுவே நான் இன்று என்னுடைய புத்தக விழாவில் புகைப்படம் எடுத்துக் கொண்டேன் என்பதை விட வேறு பெருமை எனக்கு கிடைக்காது.

நான் உதவி இயக்குநராக பணியாற்றிய சமயங்களில் என்னுடன் நட்பாக பழகிய புரொடஷன் மேனேஜர் சின்னச்சாமி என்னிடம் இருந்த கதையை கேட்டுவிட்டு என்னை விட அதிக இடங்களுக்கு அந்த கதையை சுமந்து சென்றார். அப்படி நான்கு இடங்களில் எனக்கு படம் இயக்க வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்த போது அதில் அழகாக அமைந்த வாய்ப்பு தான் கேப்பிட்டல் பிலிம் ஒர்க்ஸ் தயாரிப்பாளர் எஸ்பி. சரண் சார் இந்த படத்தை தயாரித்தது. இந்த படத்தில் வாலி மற்றும் வைரமுத்து ஆகியோர் பாடல்களை எழுத யுவன் சங்கர் ராஜா இசையில் பணியாற்றும் வாய்ப்பு கிடைத்தது. இன்று வரை அந்த பாடல்கள் பேசப்படுகின்றன. புத்தகத்தை வெளியிட்டுள்ள அறம் பதிப்பகத்திற்கு கடந்த வருடம் வேறு ஒரு புத்தகம் வாங்குவதற்காக சென்றபோது நான்தான் குங்குமப்பூவும் கொஞ்சும் புறாவும் படத்தின் டைரக்டர் என்பதை அறிந்து நீங்கள் நிச்சயம் இந்த கதையை புத்தகமாக எழுதுங்கள் எங்கள் நிறுவனத்தில் வெளியிடுகிறோம் என்று ஊக்கப்படுத்தினார்கள். இந்த புத்தகம் வெளியாக உறுதுணையாக இருந்த அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி” என்று கூறினார்.

ஜேம்ஸ் பேசும்போது,

“இயக்குநர் ராஜமோகனுடன் பல வருடங்களாக பழகி வருகிறேன். அவர் நான்கு படங்களை இயக்கி விட்டாலும் கூட இன்று வரை அவரை உயிர்ப்புடன் நகர்த்தி செல்வது குங்குமப்பூவும் கொஞ்சும்புறாவும் படத்தை பற்றி பலரும் சிலாகித்து பேசுவது தான்” என்று கூறினார்.

நடிகர் ராமகிருஷ்ணன் பேசும்போது,

“நான் இயக்குநராகும் முயற்சியில் தீவிரமான தேர்தலில் இருந்தபோது என்னை குங்குமப்பூவும் கொஞ்சும்புறாவும் படத்தில் கதாநாயகனாக இயக்குநர் ராஜமோகன் நடிக்க வைத்தது யாரும் எதிர்பாராதது. இந்த படம் வெற்றி தோல்வி என்பதையெல்லாம் தாண்டி இன்று வரை உயிர்ப்போடு இருக்கிறது என்றால் இந்த படத்தின் திரைக்கதை தான் காரணம். இந்த திரைப்படத்தை வாழ்வியல் நுட்பத்துடன் எடுத்த இயக்குநரை எவ்வளவு பாராட்டினாலும் அது மிகையாகாது. இந்த படம் வெளியாகி 17 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு மேல் ஆகிவிட்டது. இப்போதும் என்னை இந்த படத்தில் நடித்த ஹீரோ தானே என்று சொல்லித்தான் அடையாளம் காட்டுகிறார்கள். இந்த படத்தின் காட்சிகள் பாடல்கள் இப்போதும் கூட சோசியல் மீடியாவில் உயிர்ப்போடு இருக்கிறது என்றால் நிச்சயம் இந்த படம் ஏதோ ஒரு மேஜிக் செய்திருக்கிறது” என்று பேசினார்.

இயக்குநர் விஜய் மில்டன் பேசும்போது,

“எங்களைப் போன்ற இயக்குனர்கள் கதை எழுதுவது, கவிதை எழுதுவது எல்லாம் ஒரு அங்கீகாரம் கிடைக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காகத்தான். யாரோ ஒருவர் நம்முடைய கதையை, படத்தை நன்றாக இருக்கிறது, அதுவும் தோற்றுப்போன படம் கூட நன்றாக இருக்கிறது என்று சொல்லும்போது அது மிகப்பெரிய அங்கீகாரம். அப்படி ஒரு சந்தோஷத்தை இயக்குநர் ராஜமோகனுக்கு கொடுத்ததற்காக அறம் பதிப்பகத்திற்கு நன்றி சொல்லிக் கொள்கிறேன். எங்கே சென்றாலும் அவரை குங்குமப்பூவும் கொஞ்சும்புறாவும் டைரக்டர் தானே என்று சொல்கிறார்கள். இந்த வருடம் அதையும் தாண்டி ஒரு படத்தை பண்ணுவதற்காக கதையுடன் சுற்றிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார்” என்று பேசினார்.

“இந்த புத்தக வெளியிட்டு விழாவை ஒரு மனிதனின் அயராத முயற்சியும் ஒரு தன்னம்பிக்கை எழுச்சிமாகத்தான் நான் பார்க்கிறேன். ஒரு குடும்பத்தில் மூன்று பேருக்கு நடுவில் பிறந்து தந்தையையும் அண்ணனையும் இழந்து படிப்பை பாதியிலேயே நிறுத்த வேண்டிய சூழலில் ஒரு சினிமாவை பார்த்துவிட்டு அதில் கதாநாயகன் செய்யும் பல வேலைகளை குறித்து வைத்துக் கொண்டு அதில் சில வேலைகளை தனது தினசரி வாழ்க்கையில் செய்து படிப்பை விடாமல் தொடர்ந்து கல்லூரி பட்டம் பெற்ற ஒரு செயல் வீரனின் கதையாகத்தான் இந்த புத்தகத்தை நான் பார்க்கிறேன். அப்படி கல்லூரி படிப்பை முடித்த பிறகும் அந்த வேலைகளை தொடர்ந்து கொண்டிருந்த சமயத்தில் என்னுடைய, ‘நீ வருவாய் என’ படத்தை பார்த்துவிட்டு நான் விக்ரமனின் உதவியாளர் என்பதை அறிந்து கொண்டு தொடர்ந்து எனக்கு கடிதங்கள் எழுதி, என்னைக் கவர்ந்து, என்னை தேடி சென்னைக்கு வந்து விட்டார் இயக்குநர் ராஜமோகன். என்னிடம் உதவியாளராக சேர்வதற்கு சில தேர்வுகளை வைத்தேன். நல்ல காட்சி சொன்னால் 100 ரூபாய் தருவதாக சொன்னேன். அப்படி பலமுறை என்னிடம் பரிசாக பணம் பெற துவங்கினார். இவர் இப்படி என்னிடம் பரிசாக பணம் வாங்குவதை பார்த்து, நான் இன்னும் அதிகமாக பணம் சம்பாதிக்க வேண்டுமோ அல்லது தவறாக வாக்கு கொடுத்து விட்டோமோ என்கிற அச்சமும் கூட எனக்கு ஏற்பட்டு அதனாலயே அவரை என் உதவியாளராக சேர்த்துக் கொண்டேன். அவருடைய வாழ்க்கையே ‘நான் பேச நினைப்பதெல்லாம்’ என்கிற அந்தப் படத்தினால் தான். ஒரு படைப்பு என்பது ஒரு மனிதனுக்கு எத்தகைய உத்வேகத்தை கொடுத்திருக்கிறது என்பதற்கு இது ஒரு உதாரணம் “என்று கூறினார்.

கவிஞர் மனுஷ்ய புத்திரன் பேசும்போது,

“இந்த புத்தகத்திற்கு இயக்குநர் ராஜமோகன் எழுதி இருக்கும் முன்னுரையே ஒரு திரைக்கதை போல அவ்வளவு நேர்த்தியாக இருக்கிறது. அதையே ஒரு படமாக எடுக்கலாம். பேருந்து நிலையத்தில் யாரோ ஒரு வயதான பெண் தன் வாழ்க்கையில் நடந்த சம்பவத்தை சொன்ன போது, அதையே இந்த சமூகத்திற்கு ஒரு படைப்பாக கொடுக்கும் விதமாக இந்த கதையை அவர் உருவாக்கி இருக்கிறார். ஒரு படம் வெளிவந்து 17 வருடங்களுக்குப் பிறகு அது ஏன் புத்தகமாகி இருக்கிறது என்ற கேள்வி பலருக்கும் எழலாம். இன்று படங்களின் ஆயுள் காலம் ஓரிரு வாரங்கள் என்று ஆகிவிட்ட நிலையில் கால ஓட்டத்தில் சமூக நோக்கில் எடுக்கப்பட்ட படங்கள் கூட மறக்கடிக்கப்பட்டாலும் அவற்றின் திரைக்கதைகள் புத்தகங்களாக வெளியாகி இன்றைய தலைமுறையை சென்று அடைய வேண்டும். அந்த பணியை தான் அறம் பதிப்பகம் செய்திருப்பதாக நினைக்கிறேன். இதுபோன்ற நல்ல படைப்புகளை ராஜமோகன் படமாக இயக்க வேண்டும். இது போன்ற நல்ல திரைக்கதைகளை அறம் பதிப்பகம் தொடர்ந்து வெளியிட வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன்” என பேசினார்.
