RS Infotainment Eldred Kumar presents ‘Viduthalai Part 1’, directed by Vetrimaaran, featuring Soori and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles, has musical score by Isaignani Maestro Ilaiyaraaja. The audio and the trailer launch of this film was held last evening (March 8), where the occasion commenced with the younger generation of musicians and singers performing the evergreen songs of Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja followed by the audio-trailer launch.

Here are some of the excerpts from the occasion.

Producer Eldred Kumar, RS Infotainment said, “Viduthalai is a 10 year journey, and I am so glad that the long run dream has come true. I thank Suresh Balaji sir for giving the title ‘Viduthalai’. Vetrimaaran sir is a treasure to the Tamil film industry. I request him to take care and spend time for himself. We all need him and the Tamil film lovers too. Tamil cinema has witnessed the arrival of many music directors, but Ilaiyaraaja sir keeps ruling our hearts. He is around 80yrs old, but still his energy, dedication and hard work has never faded. Even today, he is working leading filmmakers like Vetrimaaran, Venkat Prabhu and many others. It’s a gift that Viduthalai has got his music. Vijay Sethupathi is an unusual performer, who just came, attempted his best, and struck the gold. Without his presence, Viduthalai would be an empty space. I always keep admiring him on the shooting spot. His dedication and involvement for every role he does is so spellbinding. We at RS Infotainment are glad that we have introduced Soori as the protagonist in this movie, and I thank Vetrimaaran for creating this opportunity. Soori has sacrificed a lot of projects for this film, and even the financial factors. He developed a new lifestyle and was constantly on diet for a couple of years to retain his physical look. This film will elevate his level in the industry. All of us have become the ardent fan of actress Bhavani Sre. I am confident that her fan base will be huge after the film’s release. This is the first time, I am meeting the producer. He would never visit the shooting spot, but I got everything that I demanded. If not for his support, this movie would have not achieved the final output as now. Soori has become the content-driven hero, and Velraj’s support has been immense. His visuals have offered a realistic shade to the entire film.”

He has done 5 movies over a couple of decades, but has been adored as the great inspiration for his storytelling. After watching the trailer, I immediately called Vijay Sethupathi and appreciated his awe-inspiring performance. I also told Soori that his hard work and relentless involvement for this film will take him great heights. Every technician and actor have made the movie look more grandeur. Cinematographer Rajeev Menon said, “I am an accidental actor here. I had got more acting offers, but I kept rejecting them. Vetrimaaran’s confidence and conviction is what it inspired and motivated me to be a part of this project. He has done a mountaineering for this movie, and his efforts will be visible with the film. I thank everyone in the team for their phenomenal support. Thank you all.”

Writer Jeyamohan said, “The whole team has exerted an impeccable effort and energy into the project. Vetrimaaran has executed the project so well, and has translated the words into the visuals brilliantly. He has made the image of actors disappear, and transformed them into the characters. Ilaiyaraaja sir is my Guru, He has delivered a realistic music for this film. I wish the entire, a great success.”

Director Vetrimaaran said, “Viduthalai started with Ilaiyaraaja sir. I approached him for his approval, and he has asked what’s the film all about. I revealed my plans of shooting few portions, and show him the visuals. I shot the film nearly for 45 minutes and screened it for him. He immediately started writing lyrics and composing the ‘Kaattu Malli’ song. Later, I asked him for the background score so that it would be helpful for me to shoot the scenes in a better way. He exactly delivered the music, which completely synched with my expectations. I feel gifted to experience the working of his musical mind. I learnt a lot, when he shared his life experiences. Everyone here grew up listening to his music. The entire crew is elated to have his presence in this project.”

Music Director Ilaiyaraaja said, “The premise of Viduthalai will be completely new to Tamil Cinema. His movies are more like the waves that relentlessly keeps occurring, but they are not same. Vetrimaaran is an important director in the film industry, and this comes from me, who has composed music for 1500 movies. You all will listen to music that you hadn’t experienced before.”

Actor Soori said, “Ilaiayaraaja sir is the Hero of this event. I would say that, he has been the hero for the past 45 years, right from his debut film. I am so glad and feel proud to be a part of such a project that features musical score by Isaignani Ilaiayaraaja sir. I owe a lot to Vetrimaaran sir for giving this opportunity. I feel that my parents’ goodwill has made me a part of such a huge project, which has created a new way for me. Vijay Sethupathi is the only one, who keeps pushing his co-stars and technicians to achieve greater levels. Both of us worked together in the movie ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’, and during that time, he encouraged me stating, “Don’t define yourself as a comedian, and you’ve the potential to score high as a performer.” When he came to the shooting spot of Viduthalai, he shook hands with Vetrimaaran sir, and thanked him for giving this opportunity for me. I am sure that Bhavani will have more fans after the film’s release. I wish Chetan sir, who is well known as small screen Kamal Haasan, and now he will be adored as ‘Silver Screen’ Sivaji Ganesan. The entire team has done a remarkable job, and everyone’s contribution from the team has made Viduthalai more special for all of us. Producer Eldred Kumar’s passion for cinema is unconditional. He would say that ‘Cinema is like Goddess, and we have to keep adoring it, and it will give back when we need.’ The amount of money he has spent for the diesel can be used for the production of one full-length feature film. He would always ensure that everyone on the shooting spot were comfortable. Vetrimaaran sir has a huge fan following like any other mainstream actors. I still remember the moment, when he narrated the script, and I was like, I am going to play a comedian role. Finally, when he revealed that I am playing the lead role, I had to control my emotions, and then came out excited. However, the process of materializing Viduthalai wasn’t an easy process. It passed through the several odds and challenges including COVID-19. Finally, to see that the film is gearing up for release soon gives me immense pleasure. Vetrimaaran sir’s instructions and inputs has added Golden-touch on me. I am sure that you all will love this movie. Thank you.”

Actor Vijay Sethupathi said, “Working with Vetrimaaran sir has been a bliss. I was totally disappointed for not getting the opportunity to work with him Vada Chennai. I didn’t even watch the movie, and even the beautiful song, as I regretted for missing the great chance. But then, I worked with him in Viduthalai that endowed me an unforgettable experience. I am so glad that my friend Soori has got a new avatar as a performer through this movie. I thank Eldred Kumar sir for creating this project. Ilaiyaraaja sir’s music is so intense and fascinating. His Midas-touch for this movie has added more value to the film. I also humbly request you all to listen to his speech without interrupting as he owns a vast experience, which could help us in many ways.

எல்ரெட் குமார், ஆர்.எஸ். இன்ஃபோடெயின்மெண்ட் பிரைவேட் லிமிடெட் தயாரிப்பில், வெற்றிமாறன் இயக்கத்தில் நடிகர்கள் சூரி, விஜய்சேதுபதி, பவானிஸ்ரீ உள்ளிட்டப் பலர் நடித்திருக்கக்கூடியத் திரைப்படம் ‘விடுதலை’. இசைஞானி இளையராஜா இந்தப் படத்திற்கு இசையமைத்துள்ளார். இந்தப் படத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழா சென்னையில் நேற்று (08.03.2023) நடைபெற்றது.

இசைஞானி இளையராஜாவின் பாடல்களோடு விழா தொடங்கியது.

விழா நாயகன் இளையராஜா பேசியதாவது, ” இந்தப்படம் திரையுலகம் இதுவரை சந்திக்காத களத்தில் நடக்கும். அவருடைய ஒவ்வொரு கதையும் வெவ்வேறு திரைக்கதை. 1500 படங்களுக்கு இசையமைத்த பிறகு சொல்கிறேன் வெற்றிமாறன் திரையுலகிற்கு முக்கியமான இயக்குநர். இந்தப் படத்தில் இதுவரை நீங்கள் கேட்காத இசையை கேட்பீர்கள்” என்றார்.

இசைவெளியீட்டு விழாவில் இயக்குநர் வெற்றிமாறன் பேசியதாவது, “‘விடுதலை’ படத்தின் தொடக்கம் ராஜா சார்தான். 45 நிமிடங்கள் படம் எடுத்து விட்டுதான் அவரிடம் காண்பித்தேன். அந்த காட்சிகளைப் பார்த்துவிட்டு ராஜா சார் இசையமைத்த பாடல்தான் வழி நெடுக காட்டுமல்லி பாடல். இந்த பாடலுக்கு இசைமைக்கும்போதே, இந்தப் பாடலை நான் எழுதுகிறேன் என்று சொல்லிதான் எழுதினார். பின்னணி இசையும் கேட்டேன். என் மனதில் ஒரு உணர்வு இருக்கிறது என்று அதை அவரிடம் விவரித்தேன். அதை அவர் உள்வாங்கி பாடல் ஆக்கி ஒலியாக அதை எனக்கு கொடுத்த போது மீண்டும் அந்த உணர்வு எனக்கு கிடைத்தது. அது மிகப்பெரிய அனுபவமாக இருந்தது. ராஜா சாரின் மியூசிக்கல் மைண்ட் எப்படி வேலை செய்கிறது என்பதை அருகில் இருந்து பார்ப்பது எனக்கு மிகப்பெரிய பரிசு என்று சொல்வேன். அவர் பகிர்ந்து கொண்ட அனுபவங்கள் எனக்கு மிகப்பெரிய கற்றல். நாங்கள் எல்லோருமே உங்கள் பாடல்களை கேட்டு வளர்ந்தவர்கள் தான் அதை சந்தோஷத்தோடு உங்களை இசையை நாங்கள் வாங்கிக் கொள்கிறோம்” என்றார்.

மேலும் அவர் பேசியதாவது, ”இந்தப் படம் எல்லா வகையிலும் எல்லாருக்கும் சவாலானதாக இருந்தது. இந்தப் படத்தில் வேலை பார்த்த என்னுடைய அணி, தொழில்நுட்ப கலைஞர்கள், நடிகர்கள் என அனைவருக்குமே நன்றி அனைவரும் மிக கடினமான உழைப்பை கொடுத்துள்ளனர். இந்த கதையை கொடுத்த ஜெயமோகன் சாருக்கு நன்றி. எந்த ஏரியாவில் கேட்டாலும் அவரிடம் ஏற்கனவே ஒரு கதை இருக்கும். அந்த அளவுக்கு எழுதி குவித்து இருக்கிறார். ராஜா சாரிடம் வேலை பார்த்தது முன்பே சொன்னது போல மிகப்பெரிய அனுபவம். நான் அடிக்கடி கோபப்படுவேன். கோபம் என்பது என்னுடைய இயலாமை தான். அந்த நேரத்தில் அந்த கோபம் எல்லாம் என்னுடைய உதவி இயக்குநர்கள் மேல்தான் திரும்பும். இந்த சமயத்தில் அவர்களுக்கு நன்றியோடு சேர்த்து மன்னிப்பும் கேட்டுக்கொள்கிறேன். இந்த படத்துக்கு முதலில் நான்கு கோடி ரூபாய் தான் தயாரிப்பாளர் எல்ரெட் குமாரிடம் பற்றி சொன்னேன். ஆனால், அதையும் தாண்டி மூன்று மடங்கு வரை போய்விட்டது. அதை எல்லாம் கேட்காது இந்த படத்தின் மீது அவர் ஒரு பார்வையும் நம்பிக்கையும் வைத்திருந்தார். அது முக்கியமானது. சூரியை வைத்து ஒரு எளிய படம் எடுத்துக்கலாம் என்றுதான் நினைத்தேன். ஆனால் அவர் உள்ளே வந்த பிறகு இன்னும் படம் பெரிதானது. சேதுவை வைத்து கிட்டத்தட்ட 65 நாட்கள் படம் பிடித்தோம். முதல் பாகத்தில் அவருடைய காட்சிகள் குறைவாக இருந்தாலும், அவரைப் பற்றி தான் பேசி இருப்போம். இரண்டாம் பாகத்தில் படம் முழுக்க வருகிறார்.

சில அரசியல் சிந்தனைகளை எல்லாம் படமாக்குவதற்கு விஜய் சேதுபதி போன்ற நடிகர்கள் இருப்பது மிகவும் நம்பிக்கை கொடுத்தது. 25 பக்க காட்சிகளை எல்லாம் இரண்டு மணி நேரத்தில் எடுத்து இருக்கிறோம். வசதியாக இருந்து பழகிய நடிகர்களுக்கு ‘விடுதலை’ போன்ற படத்தில் நடிப்பது மிகவும் சிரமமானது. கௌதம் மேனன் நடிக்க உள்ளே வந்ததை விட ராஜீவ் நடிக்க ஒத்துக் கொண்டதுதான் ஆச்சரியமாக இருந்தது. அவரும் எளிதாக இந்த கதையில் ஒன்றிப் போனார். இந்த கதை என்னுடைய விருப்பம் தான். அதற்கு ஒத்துழைத்து வந்த அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி. என்னுடைய உழைப்பையும் வெற்றியையும் என்னுடைய குரு பாலு மகேந்திராவுக்கும் என்னுடைய அசிஸ்டன்ட்ஸ்க்கும் சமர்ப்பிக்கிறேன்” என்றார்.

தயாரிப்பாளர் எல்ரெட் குமார் பேசியதாவது, “‘விடுதலை’ படம் தொடங்கியது மிகப்பெரிய கதை. கிட்டதட்ட 10 ஆண்டுகளான பயணம் அது. ‘விடுதலை’ டைட்டில் கிடைத்ததற்கு சுரேஷ் பாலாஜிக்கு நன்றி. ரஜினி சார் பட டைட்டில் இது. கேட்டதும் எந்த ஒரு பிரதிபலனும் எதிர்பாராமல் தந்தார்கள். இந்த கதைக்கு அப்படி ஒரு வலுவான டைட்டில் தேவைப்பட்டது. வெற்றி சார் தமிழ் சினிமாவின் பொக்கிஷம். அவரிடம் உள்ள ஸ்கிரிப்ட் எண்ணிக்கை, அவர் இதுவரை செய்த படங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையை விட அதிகம். அவருடைய சிறந்த படம் இனிமேல்தான் வர இருக்கிறது. 45 வருடங்களாக இளையராஜா அவர்களின் இசையை கேட்டு வளர்ந்து இருக்கிறோம். பல தலைமுறைகள் கடந்தாலும் இப்போது வரைக்கும் அவருடைய பாடல்கள் நின்று பேசுகிறது. இது போன்ற இசையை கொடுத்ததற்கு ஒரு ரசிகனாக அவருக்கு நன்றி. அடுத்து சேது சார்! சினிமா என்பது பெரும்பாலும் ஹீரோக்களின் ஆளுமையில் உள்ள விஷயம். ஒரு ஹிட் கொடுத்து விட்டார்கள் என்றால் அடுத்து அவர்களுக்கு என்று பட்ஜெட், இமேஜ் போன்ற விஷயங்களில் பொறுப்புள்ளது. ஆனால், இந்த விஷயங்கள் எதுவும் இல்லாமல் எந்த கதாபாத்திரம் ஆனாலும் எந்த மொழியிலும் சேது சார் கலக்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். படப்பிடிப்பு தளத்தில் அவருடைய கதாபாத்திரத்திற்காக அவ்வளவு மெனக்கெட்டு இருக்கிறார்.

சூரி அண்ணனை கதையின் நாயகனாக அறிமுகப்படுத்துவதில் எங்கள் கம்பெனிக்கு பெருமை, சந்தோஷம். அவர் இந்த கதாபாத்திரத்திற்காக நிறைய படத்தை இழந்து பொருளாதார ரீதியாகவும் கஷ்டப்பட்டு இருக்கிறார். அதற்கெல்லாம் நிச்சயம் பலன் உண்டு.

பவானிஸ்ரீ மிக அழகாக நடித்துள்ளார். ஒளிப்பாதிவாளர் ராஜீவ் மேனன், கெளதம் மேனன் என படத்தில் நடித்துள்ள நடிகர்கள், தொழில்நுட்பக் கலைஞர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி”.

அடுத்து கலை இயக்குநர் ஜாக்கி பேசியதாவது, ” தொடர்ந்து என் வேலைக்கு தீனி போட்டுக் கொண்டே இருக்கும் நன்றி தயாரிப்பாளருக்கு நன்றி. படம் பார்த்துவிட்டு சொல்லுங்கள்”.

நடிகர் சேத்தன் பேசியதாவது, “என்னுடைய கதாபாத்திரம் பார்த்து வெற்றி எப்போதும் சிரித்துக் கொண்டே இருப்பார். வெற்றிக்கு நன்றி. சேது சார், உங்களுடன் பயணித்த நாட்கள் மறக்க முடியாதவை! சூரி நீங்கள் அற்புதமாக செய்திருக்கிறீர்கள். என்னுடன் வேலை பார்த்த அனைத்து நடிகர்களுக்கும் தொழில்நுட்ப கலைஞர்களுக்கும் நன்றி! படம் மிகப்பெரிய வெற்றி அடையும்”.

பாடலாசிரியர் சுகா பேசியதாவது, ” தமிழ் திரையுலகில் நீங்கா இடம் பிடித்திருக்கும் ஒரு பாடலில் என் பெயரை இணைத்த ஆசான் இளையராஜாவுக்கு நன்றி. இந்த மேடையில் இருப்பவர்கள் அனைவரும் எனக்கு நெருக்கமானவர்கள் என்றாலும் ஒளிப்பதிவாளர் ராஜீவ் மேனனை நான் விசேஷமாக பார்க்கிறேன். பலர் நடிக்க அழைத்தும் மறுத்தவர் இந்த படத்தில் நடித்துள்ளார். இந்த படத்தின் பாடல் எழுத என அழைத்த போது பாடல் எனக்கு எழுதத் தெரியாது என்று மறுத்தேன் ஆனால் என் மீது நம்பிக்கை வைத்து இளையராஜா நான் எழுதிக் கொடுத்த சொற்றொடர்களை பாடலாக மாற்றினார். ராஜா சார் சொன்னது போல இயக்குனர் வெற்றிமாறன் இந்திய திரையுலகின் பொக்கிஷமாக இருப்பது எனக்கு பெருமை”.

தயாரிப்பாளர் கலைப்புலி எஸ். தாணு வாழ்த்தி பேசியதாவது, ” வெற்றிமாறன் மிகக் கடின உழைப்பாளி இந்த படத்தை முடித்துவிட்டு ‘வாடிவாசல்’ வருகிறேன் என்று சொல்லியிருக்கிறார். இந்தியாவின் நம்பர் ஒன் இயக்குநர் ராஜமௌலி. அவரிடம் கேட்டபோது பிடித்த இயக்குநராக வெற்றிமாறனை குறிப்பிடுகிறார். இதற்கெல்லாம் கட்டியம் கட்டியது போல இளையராஜாவும் வெற்றிமாறனை வாழ்த்தி பேசியிருக்கிறார். விஜய் சேதுபதியும் சூரியும் மிகச்சிறந்த நடிப்பையும் உழைப்பையும் கொடுத்துள்ளனர்”.

நடிகை பவானிஸ்ரீ பேசியதாவது, ” இந்தப் படத்தில் நடித்ததன் மூலம் நிறைய விஷயங்கள் கற்றுக் கொண்டேன். இளையராஜா சார் இசையில் எல்ரெட் குமார் சார் தயாரிப்பில் விஜய் சேதுபதி சூரி இவர்களுடன் நடித்தது மகிழ்ச்சி”.

இசையமைப்பாளர் சந்தோஷ் நாராயணன் பேசியதாவது, “சில கதைகளை நம்மிடம் கொண்டு வந்து சேர்க்க இயக்குநர்கள் பெரு முயற்சி எடுப்பார்கள். அதுபோன்ற இயக்குநர்களில் வெற்றிமாறனும் ஒருவர் அவர் எந்த படம் எடுத்தாலும் பார்ப்பதற்கு என்று ரசிகர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். நானும் இந்தப் படம் பார்க்கக் காத்திருக்கிறேன். படம் வெற்றியடைய வாழ்த்துகள்”.

இயக்குநர், ஒளிப்பதிவாளர், நடிகர் ராஜீவ்மேனன் பேசியதாவது, “எனக்கு நடிக்கத் தெரியாது. எதிர்பாராதவிதமாக நான் நடிக்க வந்தவன். மிகப் பெரிய அரசியல் சிந்தனையை வெற்றி சார் இந்தப் படத்தில் கொடுத்துள்ளார். படம் வெற்றிப் பெற வாழ்த்துகள்”.

எழுத்தாளர் ஜெயமோகன் பேசியதாவது, “1992-ல் ஆனந்த விகடனில் நான் எழுதிய துணைவன் சிறுகதையை மிகப்பெரிய ஆலமரமாக வெற்றிமாறன் உருவாக்கியுள்ளார். கதைக்கான உரிமையைப் பெற்றுள்ளார். இப்பொழுது உள்ள தலைமுறை தொழில்நுட்ப அடிமைகளாக இருக்கிறோம். ஆனால் அதற்கு முன்புள்ள தலைமுறை அப்படி கிடையாது. உலகத்தை மாற்ற வேண்டும் என கனவு கண்டு அதற்கு தங்களை பலி கொடுக்க தயாராக இருந்தவர்கள். அந்த தலைமுறையில் ஒருவரை பற்றிய கதை இது. எழுத்தாளனாக என்னுடைய ஐடியாலஜியை நான் முன் வைக்க மாட்டேன். அந்த காலகட்டத்தை முன்னிறுத்துவது மட்டுமே என் வேலை. அந்த கதாபாத்திரமாக விஜய் சேதுபதியை நான் நேரில் பார்த்துள்ளேன். புரட்சியாளருக்கு எப்படி கோனார் என்று பெயர் வைக்க முடியும் என சிலர் அபத்தமாக கேட்கின்றனர். புரட்சியாளர்கள் எப்பொழுதுமே அவர்களுக்கு தாங்களே பெயர் வைத்துக் கொள்ள மாட்டார்கள். விபூதி வைத்துக்கொண்டு மிக இயல்பாக கூட்டத்தில் ஒருவராக தான் இருப்பார். அப்படி ஒரு தலைமுறை இருந்ததை இந்த தலைமுறைக்கு சொல்ல வேண்டும் என்பதை நோக்கியே வெற்றிமாறன் இந்த படத்தை எடுத்துள்ளார். இந்த கதையை ஒரு சாதாரண மனிதன் பார்வையில் எழுதும் எண்ணம் இருந்தது. அவர் ஒரு கான்ஸ்டபிள். இந்த கதாபாத்திரத்திற்கு புகழ்பெற்ற ஆண் அழகர்கள் நடிக்க முடியாது. நம்மில் ஒரு சாதாரணமானவர்தான் எந்த எல்லைக்கும் சென்று நடிக்க வேண்டும். அப்படியான ஒருவரை தேர்ந்தெடுத்ததில் தான் வெற்றிமாறன் உடைய வெற்றி அடங்கியிருக்கிறது. சாதாரணமாக ஒரு கதாநாயகன் நடிக்க துணியாத உயிரை பணயம் வைக்கும் காட்சி ஒன்றில் சூரி நடித்துள்ளார். படத்தில் இது போன்ற கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடிக்க எந்த கதாநாயகர்களும் முன்வரமாட்டார்கள். ஆனால் விஜய் சேதுபதி இதில் நடித்துக் கொடுத்துள்ளார். படம் வெற்றி அடைய வாழ்த்துக்கள். இதற்கு இளையராஜா அவர்களை தவிர்த்து வேறு ஒருவர் இசையமைத்திருந்தால், கதைக்கு அத்தனை தகவல்களை திரட்டி இருக்க வேண்டும். ஆனால், இளையராஜா போன்றோர் நம் அடையாளமாக இருக்கும்பொழுது அதற்கெல்லாம் அவசியம் ஏற்படாது. திறமையான இசையைக் கொடுத்துள்ளார்”.
