KUTTRAM KADITHAL 2, a gripping thriller-drama, features an impressive ensemble cast including Pandiyarajan, Appu Kutty, Balaji Murugadoss, Deepak, Paval, Padman, PL Thenappan, Chandini Tamilarasan, Keerthi Chawla, Viji Chandrasekar, Lovelyn, Jovita Livingston, Roshan, and others. Doha, Qatar: Manithaneya Kalachara Peravai (MKP) Qatar marked its 10th anniversary with a grand cultural evening titled “Forever Captain – A Tribute Night in Remembrance of Vijayakanth”, held on Friday, 19 December 2025, at 6.30 pm at the DPS–MIS Auditorium, Doha, Qatar.

The event drew an overwhelming response with more than 1,000 attendees, reflecting the strong emotional bond the Indian diaspora in Doha shares with the legacy of the late actor and leader Vijayakanth, fondly known as “Captain.”

The highlight of the evening was the presence of Mr. R.K. Selvamani, renowned Indian film director, and Mrs. Roja Selvamani, former Minister for Tourism, Culture and Youth Advancement of Andhra Pradesh. Their participation added stature to the tribute and was warmly received by the audience.

The initial schedule was planned for 80 days, but to our pleasant surprise, the team completed the entire shoot, including action blocks and song sequences, well ahead of schedule. Produced on a grand scale, Sigma stars Sundeep Kishen in the lead role, with an ensemble cast that includes Faria Abdullah, Raju Sundaram, Sampath Raj, Shiv Pandit, Anbu Thasan, Yog Japee, and others.

The film’s technical team includes music composer Thaman S, cinematographer Krishnan Vasant, editor Praveen KL, and VFX supervisor Hariharasuthan. Sanjeev serves as the co-director, while Suresh Chandra is handling the public relations for the film.

Following the success of long-format web series such as Heartbeat, Police Police, and Office, JioHotstar now brings audiences a compelling new cricket-based drama with Hotstar Specials ‘LBW – Love Beyond Wicket’, headlined by Vikranth in his OTT debut. Produced by AteleFactory, the makers behind the blockbuster series Heartbeat, LBW is set to premiere on January 1, 2026, marking the first Tamil original series to release from the platform’s slate announced at the JioHotstar South Unbound event.
From the newly released launch promo, LBW – Love Beyond Wicket unfolds the story of Rangan, a once-promising cricketer whose career never took flight. Now a reluctant coach, Rangan is tasked with training an underdog team in a struggling cricket academy, determined to revive its lost legacy. Set against the backdrop of grassroots cricket, the series blends sport, emotion, ambition, and redemption, capturing what it truly means to fight for a second chance—both on and off the field.
Speaking about his association with the series, Vikranth Santhosh shared,
“This is my first association with JioHotstar, and to make my OTT debut with a series rooted in cricket makes it even more special. Cricket has always been very close to my heart, and LBW allowed me to explore that connection in a deeply emotional way. I’m truly excited for audiences to experience this journey.”
Written by Aruna Rakhee and directed by Ganesh Karthikeyan, the series features a strong ensemble cast including Sindhu Shyam, Niyathi, Harish, Ayaz Khan, Akshatha, Naveen, Nikhil Nair, and Viswa Mithran, among others. With its grounded storytelling and relatable characters, LBW – Love Beyond Wicket promises to be a heartfelt sports drama that resonates with viewers across generations.

The 23rd Chennai International Film Festival (CIFF), organized by Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation with the support of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), was held from December 11 to 18.

As a key highlight of the festival, under the Tamil feature films competition 12 films has been shortlisted, representing the finest of contemporary Tamil cinema.

Award ceremony was held on the final day of the festival and director Ram’s Paranthu Po was chosen by the jury as the Best Film of the festival. The award was received by director Ram, along with Mr. Pradeep Milroy, Head of Disney+ Star Tamil and Mr. Karuppusamy, Founder of GKS Productions.

The recognition of Paranthu Po reaffirms director Ram’s distinctive cinematic voice and the film’s powerful storytelling, marking another significant milestone in contemporary Tamil cinema.

23வது சென்னை சர்வதேச திரைப்பட விழாவில் சிறந்த படத்திற்கான விருதை வென்ற ராமின் ‘பறந்து போ’ திரைப்படம்

தமிழக அரசு மற்றும் தேசிய திரைப்பட வளர்ச்சி கழகத்தின் ஆதரவுடன் இந்தோ சினி அப்ரிஸியேஷன் பவுண்டேஷன் சார்பில், 23வது சென்னை சர்வதேச திரைப்பட விழா, டிசம்பர் 11 ஆம் தேதி முதல் 18 ஆம் தேதி வரை நடைபெற்று வந்தது.

இந்த திரைப்பட விழாவின் முக்கிய அங்கமான தமிழ் திரைப்படங்களுக்கான போட்டிப் பிரிவில் 12 திரைப்படங்கள் தேர்வாகியிருந்தது.

விருது வழங்கும் நிகழ்ச்சி திரைப்பட விழாவின் இறுதி நாளில் நடைப்பெற்றது.
