India’s premier media house, ZEE Network, has always been at the forefront of producing original content since its inception. As ZEE Telugu recently celebrated its 20-year milestone, the organisation marked the occasion by honouring women’s power. Under this theme, ZEE5 unveiled its new original web series, “Viraatapalem: PC Meena Reporting”, on June 26. The seven-episode series has received an overwhelmingly positive response from audiences and is poised to become one of the most successful shows on the platform.
Directed by Poluru Krishna, Viraatapalem features Abhignya Vuthaluru in the lead role. KV Sriram produced the project under South Indian Screens. This edge-of-the-seat investigative thriller features Charan Lakkaraju, Lavanya Sahukara, Ramaraju, Gowtham Raju, Satish, Surya Teja and Krishna Teja in supporting roles. Thejaswi Pera is the writer of the series, and Vikram Kumar Kandimalla worked on the screenplay for it. The background score was composed by Rohit Kumar. Mahesh K Swaroop served as the Director of Photography, and Farooq Hundekar handled the editing.
The makers held a press meet today to celebrate the success of the series and also address the copyright controversy that has been surrounding the media over the last few days. The success meet was graced by prominent figures including ZEE5 Telugu Business Head Anuradha, ZEE5 Telugu Originals Vice President Sai Tej Deshraj, ZEE Telugu Senior Vice President of Commissioning and On-Air Promotions Jayanth, ZEE5 South Marketing Senior Lloyd C Xavier, Viraatapalem Producer KV Sriram, DOP Mahesh, Writers Divya Tejaswini and Vikram Kumar, and actors Krishna Teja, Satish, and Surya Teja.
Speaking at the event, Anuradha addressed both the success of the series and the ongoing legal controversy regarding its copyright. She said, “Generally, I prefer staying away from public statements, but today’s context demands a response — especially as we celebrate 20 years of ZEE Telugu. ZEE has been a trendsetter in the satellite TV space, introducing iconic shows that have shaped the industry. We have always delivered 100% original content. Three of our Telugu shows have been adapted into Hindi recently. With ZEE5 Telugu, we started strong with GOD, followed by acclaimed series in collaboration with industry’s best talents, like Gaalivaana with BBC, ATM with Dil Raju Garu, Paruvu with Gold Box Entertainment, Oka Chinna Family Story with Niharika Konidela’s Pink Elephant Pictures and Puli Meka with Kona Venkat Garu — the first cop-based series in Telugu OTT. We paved the way, and others followed.”
She added, “There has been a lot of misinformation in recent days, but we’ve chosen to stay silent while the matter is sub judice. Once the court verdict is out, we will present the scripts of both shows for public evaluation if needed. All I can firmly say is we are 100% original. Despite the negativity at the time of its release, Viraatapalem has performed exceptionally well. We are happy for that.”
Commenting on plagiarism allegations, Anuradha stated, “Some story ideas are like white clothes — you can’t copyright the cloth, but the prints on the cloth can be copyrighted. When there were objections regarding our content, we agreed to hold a screening for the other party as per the court’s order. However, before the screening, they held a press meeting and made allegations. But after watching the series, they left silently and deferred the court hearing to July 9. That silence said it all. We will wait for the court’s verdict to speak further, and I can say that the truth will prevail.” “Going forward, we will incorporate specific clauses when working with young writers to prevent legal complications,” she further added.
ZEE5 Vice President Sai Tej Deshraj said, “We are proud to experiment with genres and continue ZEE’s legacy as India’s first private media channel post-liberalisation in 1992. Under ZEE5, we’ve consistently delivered high-budget, quality web series. We aim to release a new series every month and introduce at least 15–20 new technicians to the industry this year. Writer Vikram Kumar shared, “Four pillars made Viraatapalem happen — Anuradha ma’am, Deshraj garu, Sriram garu, and our director Krishna garu. Divya initially pitched the idea, and we built it together for the last four years. Anuradha ma’am greenlit the project immediately after hearing the narration. We’ve been working on this for 3–4 years, and it is disheartening to see a few people trying to make allegations without even watching the series. But we believe in our judicial system and are confident that the truth will prevail.”
Actor Surya Teja said, “After Recce, Viraatapalem is another major success for South India Screens. I’m thankful to Sriram garu, Krishna garu, and Anuradha ma’am for this opportunity.”
Actor Krishna Teja added, “This character is very close to my heart. Thanks to the writers and director for trusting me. ZEE5’s aggressive promotion helped the show reach a wider audience.”
Actor Satish, who made a comeback with Viraatapalem, said, “After Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam, I took a break. Viraatapalem is my best comeback. Even with a brief role, I received a lot of appreciation. Most of my hits have come through ZEE. Their originality is undeniable.”

இந்நிகழ்வில் குரோம்பேட்டை வெற்றி திரையரங்க அதிபர் ராகேஷ் பேசுகையில், ”மிகவும் சந்தோஷமான நாள் இது. ‘டிராகன்’ படத்தின் நூறாவது நாள் வெற்றி விழா. பொதுவாக தமிழ் திரையுலகில் பிப்ரவரி மாதம் குறைவான வசூல் இருக்கும் என்று ஒரு கட்டுக்கதை இருக்கிறது. பிப்ரவரியில் ஒரு திரைப்படத்தை வெளியிட்டால் அது வெற்றி பெறாது என்ற கட்டுக்கதையை உடைத்து எறிந்து வெற்றி பெற்ற திரைப்படம் ‘டிராகன்’. இந்த ஆண்டு தமிழக திரையரங்குகளில் வெளியான திரைப்படங்களில் அதிக வசூலை ஈட்டிய திரைப்படங்களில் ஒன்று அல்லது இரண்டாவது இடத்தை ‘ டிராகன்’ பிடித்திருக்கிறது. இப்படத்தின் நாயகனான பிரதீப் இளைஞர்கள் மத்தியில் மிகப்பெரிய நட்சத்திரமாக உயர்ந்திருக்கிறார். அவர் தொடர்ந்து வெற்றி படங்களை வழங்க வேண்டும் என வாழ்த்துகிறேன். ஏஜிஎஸ் நிறுவனம் தொடர்ந்து வெற்றி படங்களை அளித்து வருகிறது. அஸ்வத் மாரிமுத்து இயக்கத்தில் வெளியான ‘ஓ மை கடவுளே’ திரைப்படமும் சிறந்த படம் தான். அவர் இயக்கும் படங்கள் வெற்றி பெற வேண்டும் என்று வாழ்த்துகிறேன்,” என்றார்.
கமலா சினிமாஸ் திரையரங்கத்தின் உரிமையாளர் விஷ்ணு பேசுகையில், ”குழுவாக இணைந்து இந்த படத்தை வழங்கி வெற்றி பெற செய்து இருக்கிறீர்கள். இந்த வெற்றியை வார்த்தைகளால் விவரிக்க முடியாது. திரையரங்க உரிமையாளர்கள் அனைவரும் மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் இருக்கிறோம். இத்திரைப்படம் வெளியான முதல் நாளன்று படக்குழுவினர் எங்கள் திரையரங்கத்திற்கு வருகை தந்தனர். அப்போது நான் ‘இப்படத்தின் நூறாவது நாள் வெற்றி விழாவில் நிச்சயமாக சந்திப்போம்’ என்று தான் சொல்லி இருந்தேன். அது இன்று உண்மையாகி இருக்கிறது. தொடர்ந்து வெற்றி படங்களை அளித்து வரும் ஏஜிஎஸ் நிறுவனத்திற்கு எங்களது மனமார்ந்த நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம். 2024ம் ஆண்டு ஏஜிஎஸ் நிறுவனம் வெளியிட்ட ‘கோட்'( GOAT) திரைப்படம் வசூலில் வெற்றி பெற்றது. அதைத் தொடர்ந்து 2025ம் ஆண்டில் ‘டிராகன்’ திரைப்படம் வசூலில் வெற்றி பெற்றிருக்கிறது. பிரதீப் ரங்கநாதன் நடிப்பில் வெளியான ‘லவ் டுடே’ திரைப்படத்தின் நூறாவது நாள் வெற்றி விழா விருதினை வாங்கி இருக்கிறோம். அதைத்தொடர்ந்து அவரது நடிப்பில் வெளியான ‘டிராகன்’ படத்தின் நூறாவது நாள் வெற்றி விழா விருதினையும் வாங்கியிருக்கிறோம். தொடர்ந்து அவர் நடிக்கும் ‘DUDE’ படத்திற்கும் விருதினை வாங்குவோம். ஏஜிஎஸ் -அஸ்வத்- பிரதீப்- கூட்டணி மீண்டும் இணையும் என்று அறிவித்திருக்கிறீர்கள். அதற்காக ஆவலுடன் காத்திருக்கிறோம் நன்றி,” என்றார்.
இயக்குநர் அஸ்வத் மாரிமுத்து பேசுகையில், ”இந்த நான்கு மணி நேரத்தை நான் ஒரு அழகான தருணமாக கருதுகிறேன். படத்தின் வெற்றிக்காக உழைத்த அனைவருக்கும் அழைப்பு விடுத்து அவர்களுக்கு விருது வழங்க வேண்டும் என்று எண்ணிய ஏஜிஎஸ் நிறுவனத்திற்கு முதலில் நன்றி தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். ஒரு கலைஞருக்கு மிகப்பெரிய அங்கீகாரமே தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் கையாலோ அல்லது இயக்குநர் கையாலோ அல்லது நாயகன் கையாலோ விருது வாங்குவதுதான். இதனை சாதித்து காட்டிய ஏஜிஎஸ் நிறுவனத்திற்கு மீண்டும் என் நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்.
மடிப்பாக்கம் ஏரியாவில் நானும், பிரதீப்பும் ஊர் சுற்றிக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது, ஒரு நாள் ‘நான் ஹீரோவாக போகிறேன்’ என்று பிரதீப் சொன்னார். உடனே நல்ல விஷயம் என வாழ்த்து தெரிவித்தேன். அந்தத் தருணத்தில் நாங்கள் ‘டிராகன்’ என்ற ஒரு படத்தில் இணைந்து பணியாற்றுவோம் என்றோ, அந்தப் படத்தின் நூறாவது நாள் வெற்றி விழாவில் சந்திப்போம் என்றோ நினைத்துக் கூட பார்க்கவில்லை.
‘லவ் டுடே’ படத்தை விட ‘டிராகன்’ படத்தின் மூலம் ஏராளமான ரசிகர்களை பெற்றிருக்கிறார் பிரதீப் ரங்கநாதன். இங்கு வெவ்வேறு ஊர்களில் இருந்து அவருடைய ரசிகர்கள் வருகை தந்திருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்களுக்கும் இந்தத் தருணத்தில் நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். எதிர்காலத்தில் பிரதீப் ரசிகர்கள் அதிகமாகி நேரு ஸ்டேடியமே நிறைந்து விடும். அதற்காகவும் காத்திருக்கிறேன். வருகை தந்த அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி,” என்றார்.
கிரியேட்டிவ் புரொடியுசர் அர்ச்சனா கல்பாத்தி பேசுகையில், ”ஒரு படம் நன்றாக இருக்கும் போது அந்தப் படத்திற்கான வேர்ட் ஆஃப் மவுத் எவ்வளவு முக்கியமோ, அதே அளவிற்கு ஊடகங்களின் பங்களிப்பும் முக்கியம். இந்தப் படத்தின் பத்திரிகையாளர் காட்சிக்குப் பிறகு இந்தப் படம் மிகப்பெரிய வெற்றியை பெறும் என்று பத்திரிகையாளர்களாகிய நீங்கள் பாராட்டினீர்கள். அதை ரசிகர்களிடமும் கொண்டு சேர்த்தீர்கள். இதற்காக இந்த தருணத்தில் ஊடகத்தினருக்கு என் மனமார்ந்த நன்றியை தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன்,” என்றார்.
நடிகர் பிரதீப் ரங்கநாதன் பேசுகையில், ”இயக்குநர் அஸ்வத்தும், நானும் நண்பர்கள் என்று அனைவருக்கும் தெரியும். அவர் ‘ஓ மை கடவுளே’ படத்தின் கதையை எழுதிக் கொண்டிருந்தபோது ஒரு முறை என்னிடம், ‘இப்படி ஒரு கதாபாத்திரம் இருக்கிறது. அதில் நீ நடிக்கிறாயா?’ என கேட்டார். அதற்கு நான் ‘நடித்தால் ஹீரோவாகத் தான் நடிப்பேன்’ என்று பதிலளித்தேன். அப்போது நான் ‘கோமாளி’ படத்தையும் இயக்கவில்லை. ‘லவ் டுடே’ படத்திலும் நடிக்கவில்லை. இருந்தாலும் என் மீது அஸ்வத் நம்பிக்கை வைத்தார்.
அதன் பிறகு ‘லவ் டுடே’ படத்தில் நடித்து முடித்த பிறகு, படம் வெளியாவதற்கும் முன் அஸ்வத்திற்கு திரையிட்டு காண்பித்தேன். அப்போது அவரிடம் என்னை ஹீரோவாக வைத்து படம் இயக்குவாயா? எனக் கேட்டேன். காலம் கனியட்டும் என பதிலளித்தார். நானும் நாங்கள் இருவரும் இணைந்து பணியாற்றுவதற்கு சிறிது கால அவகாசம் ஆகும் என நினைத்தேன். ஆனால் அதனை ஒரே படத்தில் சாதித்து காட்டியது ரசிகர்கள் தான்.
‘டிராகன்’ படத்தை இயக்கியதற்காக அஸ்வத் மாரிமுத்துவுக்கு மீண்டும் ஒரு முறை நன்றி தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறேன். நடித்தால் ஹீரோவாகத்தான் நடிப்பேன் என்று என் மீது நான் வைத்த குருட்டு நம்பிக்கை ரசிகர்களின் ஆதரவால் ஈடேறியது.
இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து இந்த படத்தின் வெற்றிக்கு ஏஜிஎஸ் நிறுவனமும் காரணம். இந்த நிறுவனத்துடன் நான் இணைந்து பணியாற்றிய இரண்டாவது நூறு நாள் படம் இது. ‘லவ் டுடே’ படத்தின் வெற்றி மேஜிக் என்றார்கள். இதனால் மீண்டும் ஒரு வெற்றி படத்தை வழங்க வேண்டுமே என நினைத்தோம். இந்தத் தருணத்தில் ஏஜிஎஸ் நிறுவனமும் இயக்குநர் அஸ்வத்தும் பேச்சுவார்த்தை நடத்தி ஒரு திரைப்படத்தை உருவாக்குவதாக இருந்தது. அப்படித் தான் ‘டிராகன்’ அமைந்தது. ஏஜிஎஸ் நிறுவனத்துடனான மகிழ்ச்சி நிரம்பிய இந்தப் பயணம் தொடரும்.
‘கோமாளி’, ‘லவ் டுடே’, ‘டிராகன்’ என என்னுடைய தொடர் மூன்றாவது நூறு நாள் திரைப்படம் இது. மகிழ்ச்சியாக இருக்கிறது. இதில் ‘டிராகன்’ படத்தின் வெற்றி முக்கியமானது. ஏனெனில் ‘கோமாளி’, ‘லவ் டுடே’ ஆகிய இரண்டு திரைப்படங்களின் வெற்றியின் காரணமாக ‘டிராகன்’ படத்திற்கான எதிர்பார்ப்பு அதிகமாக இருந்தது.
என்னுடைய வெற்றிக்கு பின்னணியில் அஸ்வத், ஏஜிஎஸ் நிறுவனம், ரசிகர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். ‘டிராகன்’ படத்தின் வெற்றி மூலம் ரசிகர்கள் என்னை மிக உயர்ந்த இடத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் சென்று இருக்கிறார்கள். இதற்காக அவர்களுக்கு என்றென்றும் நன்றி உள்ளவனாக இருப்பேன்.

நூறாவது நாள் வெற்றி விழாவில் ‘டிராகன்’ பட உருவாக்கத்திற்காக படக்குழுவினரின் கடும் உழைப்பு குறித்த பிரத்யேக காணொலி திரையிடப்பட்டது என்பதும், இயக்குநர் மிஷ்கின் காணொலி வாயிலாக வாழ்த்தினையும், அன்பினையும் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டார் என்பதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
Niharika Konidela is on a roll as a producer after scoring a huge success with her maiden production venture, Committee Kurrollu, which also recently won two Telangana Gaddar Film Awards. Building on this success, Niharika has launched her second production under her banner, Pink Elephant Pictures, starring young sensation Sangeeth Shobhan, who garnered immense popularity with MAD and MAD Square. Supremely talented filmmaker Manasa Sharma is directing this exciting new project.
The latest addition to this highly anticipated venture is Nayan Sarika, who will be playing the female lead in the film. She has officially come on board to star opposite Sangeeth. It was Pink Elephant Pictures that introduced Nayan Sarika to Telugu audiences through the web series Hello World (ZEE5) and Bench Life (Sony LIV). Following this, she appeared in successful films like Aay and Ka. Her inclusion in this new project will make it even bigger and continues her successful collaboration with Pink Elephant Pictures.
This film also marks the reunion of Niharika, Sangeeth, and Manasa, who previously worked together on the ZEE5 web series Oka Chinna Family Story, with Sangeeth in the lead role and Manasa serving as the writer. Niharika, Manasa, and Nayan also teamed up earlier for Bench Life, which was directed by Manasa.
Alongside Sangeeth and Nayan, the movie features a stellar ensemble cast, including Vennela Kishore, Brahmaji, Tanikella Bharani, Ashish Vidyarthi, Getup Srinu, Sukwinder Singh, and Aruna Bhikshu.
Mahesh Uppala is co-writing the screenplay and dialogues for this upcoming film alongside Manasa Sharma. Anudeep Dev is composing the music, and Manyam Ramesh is the executive producer. Naidu Surendra Kumar and Phani Kandukuri are taking care of the PR duties, and Ticket Factory is in charge of marketing. More updates on the remaining cast and crew will be announced soon.

Kannappa is a bold cinematic retelling of a legendary tale rooted in devotion, transformation, and divine grace. National Crush Rashmika Mandanna’s new movie was announced yesterday with an action-packed poster. Bankrolled by Unformula Films, this heroine-oriented movie marks the directorial debut of Rawindra Pulle, a protégé of successful director Hanu Raghavapudi. Ajay and Anil Sayyapureddy are the producers, while Sai Gopa is the co-producer of the movie to be made at a Pan India level on a high budget.
After a very interesting announcement poster, teasing her fans and the industry, the film’s title and first look were launched with Rashmika Mandanna’s colleagues from across the industries releasing her poster. Director Hanu Raghavapudi unveiled the Telugu look and poster. Rashmika’s Kuberaa co-star Dhanush and Chaava co-star Vicky Kaushal released the first look in Tamil and Hindi, respectively. Dulquer Salman and Shivaraj Kumar did the honours of releasing the posters in Malayalam and Kannada. Each of them wished Rashmika and the team Mysaa the best of luck.
A powerful title Mysaa is locked for the movie, and the poster is the definition of “never-seen-before” as the actress shows us a fierce and unhinged side with her expressions.
Draped in a traditional saree, adorned with tribal jewelry, including a nose ring and neck ornaments, Rashmika channels the spirit of a Gond woman. Her fierce expression, blood-stained appearance, and the object clutched tightly in her hand all contribute to a hauntingly powerful image that promises a gripping narrative. The title and first look certainly generated inquisitiveness for the project.
“Mysaa is a product of two years of hard work. We wanted to get every detail of the world, the aesthetics, the characters, and the story right. And now, we are ready to tell this story to the world,” said Rawindra Pulle, the director.

என்னுடைய கனவு இடமான ‘இந்தியாவுக்கே எம்.ஜி.ஆர்’ (கலைத்துறையில் மட்டும்) என்ற இடத்தை அடைவதற்கு, முதல் பட இயக்குநர் போல, முதல் பட நடிகன் போல மிக சிரத்தையோடு, உங்கள் துணையோடு களமிறங்கி இருக்கிறேன்.
“கில்லர்” எனது கனவுப்படம். சில வருடங்களாகவே எழுதி வந்தேன். இது மக்களை ‘குஷி’ படுத்த போற படம். இப் படத்தை தென்னிந்தியாவின் மிக பெரிய பட நிறுவனமான ஶ்ரீ கோகுலம் மூவிஸ் கோகுலம் கோபாலன் அவர்களோடு இணைந்து, ஏஞ்சல் ஸ்டூடியோஸ் பட நிறுவனம் மூலம் பான் இந்தியா படமாக பிரமாண்டமாக உருவாக்குவதில் பெருமைக் கொள்கிறேன்.. என்றார்.
இதன் படப்பிடிப்பு ஜீன் 27ம் தேதி பூஜையுடன் இனிதே துவங்கியது.
ஐந்து மொழிகளில் தயாராகும் இப்படத்தின் படப்பிடிப்பை இந்தியாவிலும், மேலும் சில முக்கியமான காட்சிகள் மெக்ஸிகோ நாட்டிலும் மடமாக்கப் படுகிறது.
