Actors Arya & Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi unveil G.V. Prakash Kumar’s second single ‘Kaana Vilakku Mayile’ from Idi Muzhakkam 

Content-driven star G.V. Prakash Kumar has been consistently hitting headlines for his successful avatars as a music director and actor. His ability to choose unique scripts and deliver naturalistic performances makes him the favourite of industry and audiences. The actor’s upcoming collaboration with iconic filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy for ‘Idi Muzhakkam’ has kept the excitement at peak among film enthusiasts. The film is produced by Skyman Films International Kalaimagan Mubarak. 

The makers have now unveiled the film’s second single titled ‘Kaana Vilakku Mayile’, an energetic folk number crooned by Antony Dasan, written by Vairamuthu and composed by N.R. Raghunanthan. 

The leading actors of the film industry, Arya and Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi, launched the song, and the entire team has extended its heartiest thanks for their kind gesture. 

Idi Muzhakkam is an out-and-out Southern district revenge, action Thriller. The film features G.V. Prakash Kumar as a meat shop owner, and Gayathrie Shankar as a nurse. Saranya Ponvannan, Aruldoss, Soundaraja and many others are a part of this ensemble star-cast. Famous writer Jayamohan has penned the dialogues. Apart from directing, Seenu Ramasamy has penned story and screenplay for this film.

Idi Muzhakkam is produced by Kalaimagan Mubarak of Skyman Films International and is scheduled for May release.

Introduction

Naangal, directed by Karthik Suresh, is a typical festival circuit film that leans into its indie roots, exploring the fragile dynamics of a broken family set against the misty, melancholic backdrop of Lovedale, Ooty. Selected for reputed festivals like Focus South Asia, Jio MAMI, IFF Rotterdam, and Sao Paulo International Film Festival, the film attempts to capture the complexities of human relationships and authoritarian parenting through the eyes of three young boys and their embittered father.

Plot Overview

The story revolves around Karthik (Mithun), a 13-year-old boy, and his younger siblings Gautham (Nithin) and Dhruv (Rithik Mohan). Their father, Rajkumar (Abdul Rafe), a stern school principal, rules both his school and home with an iron fist. As his school faces a financial crisis, Rajkumar’s frustrations seep into his household, where he subjects his children to an oppressive routine, demanding discipline, obedience, and academic excellence at all costs.

Kathy, the family dog, becomes the lone emotional anchor for the boys in this harsh environment.

The arrival of Padma (Prarthana Srikanth), Rajkumar’s estranged wife, sparks a flicker of warmth and hope. However, her attempts to reconcile and be a mother to her sons are met with stubborn hostility from Rajkumar, whose reasons for the estrangement remain frustratingly unexplained.

Eventually, Rajkumar relinquishes control of his school and takes up a new position as Principal at an International School in Andhra Pradesh, forcing his sons to uproot their lives yet again. The film closes on an unsettling note with Kathy’s death, leaving several narrative threads unresolved.

Performances

The film’s heart lies in the tender, authentic performances of its young actors. Mithun, as Karthik, captures the burden of premature adulthood with quiet restraint. Nithin and Rithik Mohan support him ably, delivering convincing performances as innocent victims of a rigid patriarchal setup.

Abdul Rafe is intense and commanding as Rajkumar. While his character’s motives are ambiguous, Rafe’s portrayal brings out the internal conflict of a man torn between professional failure and personal insecurities.

Megastar Chiranjeevi shared a positive update regarding the health of his younger brother Pawan Kalyan’s son, Mark Shankar, who was recently injured in a fire accident at his school in Singapore.

Chiranjeevi stated that Mark Shankar has been discharged from the hospital but needs time to recover. He noted that Mark’s condition is improving steadily, but the kid still needs rest and care. He further added that Mark will soon recover fully and get back to normalcy with the blessings of Lord Hanuman.

Noting that today is the eve of Hanuman Jayanthi, Chiranjeevi said it was the divine blessings of Lord Hanuman that saved Mark Shankar from a dangerous accident.

“After the incident, people from various regions and villages stood in solidarity with our family by offering prayers and blessings for Mark Shankar’s recovery. I, on behalf of my brother Pawan Kalyan and our entire family, wholeheartedly thank each and every one for their support,” Chiranjeevi noted.

Chiranjeevi and his wife, Smt. Surekha rushed to Singapore during the late hours of Tuesday as soon as they heard about the fire accident. They have been with Pawan Kalyan and his family to offer them support and oversee the medical condition of Mark Shankar.
