“இந்த படத்தில் நடிக்கும் வாய்ப்பு திடீரென வந்தது. ஒரு நாள் பூரி ஜெகன்நாத் சார் அழைத்தார். உடனே எனக்கு நினைவுக்கு வந்தது ‘போக்கிரி’. இன்றைய தமிழக முதலமைச்சர் நடித்த அந்த பிரம்மாண்ட வெற்றிப் படத்தின் ஒரிஜினலை இயக்கியவர் அவர்தான். அதோடு பல மாஸ் ஹிட் படங்களை கொடுத்த மிகப்பெரிய இயக்குநர். என் மேனேஜரும் அவரைப் பற்றி நிறைய சொல்லியிருந்தார். அதனால் அவரை சந்திக்கும்போது ஒரு விதமான எதிர்பார்ப்பு இருந்தது.

“படப்பிடிப்பின் முதல் நாளிலேயே விஜய் சேதுபதி சாரின் அர்ப்பணிப்பை பார்த்து ஆச்சரியப்பட்டேன். தெலுங்கு டயலாக்குகளை எழுதி வைத்து மனப்பாடம் செய்வார். கேரவனில் உட்கார்ந்து ஓய்வெடுப்பதை விட, வெளியிலேயே அமர்ந்து தொடர்ந்து தனது வேலையில் முழு கவனத்துடன் ஈடுபட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அந்த அர்ப்பணிப்பைப் பார்த்தபோது, நான் முன்பு பணியாற்றிய இன்றைய தமிழக முதலமைச்சரின் உழைப்பும், அர்ப்பணிப்பும் நினைவுக்கு வந்தது. அதே அளவிலான ஈடுபாட்டையும், உழைப்பையும் விஜய் சேதுபதி சாரிடமும் பார்த்தேன்.

இந்தப் படம் வெளியான பிறகு, குறிப்பாக தெலுங்கு ரசிகர்களும் அவருடைய நடிப்பை கொண்டாடுவார்கள் என்று நம்புகிறேன். தமிழ், தெலுங்கு என எந்த மொழியாக இருந்தாலும் அவர் அந்த கதாபாத்திரமாகவே மாறிவிடுகிறார். அவருடைய திறமையை முழுமையாக பயன்படுத்திக் கொள்ளும் வகையில் பூரி சார் இந்தப் படத்தை உருவாக்கியிருக்கிறார்.
