The internationally acclaimed thriller ‘Stolen,’ featuring Abhishek Banerjee and produced by Gaurav Dhingra, made its much-anticipated return to its home country as it headed to The Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023. The festival, organized by the Mumbai Academy of Moving Image (MAMI), has been a hub for South Asia, connecting emerging talent to the worldwide festival ecosystem since its inception in 1997. This year’s festival took place from October 27 to November 5, and ‘Stolen’ had its screenings on 29th, 31st October, and 2nd November 2023.
‘Stolen’ quickly became the festival’s full house, with every seat filled to witness the intense narrative and exceptional performances. The response from the audience was nothing short of spectacular, as the film garnered an incredible round of applause and a well-deserved standing ovation, leaving a mark on the hearts of the audiences and cementing its status as a standout feature of the event. The film tells the story of a five-month-old baby’s abduction from her mother, witnessed by two city-bred brothers. Their strained relationship becomes even more complex as they get involved in the investigation, trying to aid the distressed mother.

Directed by Karan Tejpal and produced by Gaurav Dhingra of Jungle Book Studio, ‘Stolen’ also features Shubham and Mia Maelzer in pivotal roles.
