Sivakarthikeyan’s latest venture, Ayalaan, directed by R Ravikumar, offers a perfect Pongal entertainer with its blend of sci-fi elements and humor. The film introduces the audience to a unique storyline where an alien, on a mission to save nature, befriends a farmer named Tamiz (Sivakarthikeyan) in Tamil Nadu.

Synopsis:
The plot unfolds with a gas leakage tragedy in Madagascar, linked to Aryan Industries and its owner Aryan (Sharad Kelkar). Seeking to extract “Nova Gas” from an abandoned mine in Chennai, Aryan becomes the target. Simultaneously, aliens, viewing humans as a threat to Earth, send one of their own in search of “Sparc,” a substance crucial for neutralizing the environmental damage caused by the gas extraction.

Tamiz, a simple farmer, crosses paths with the alien, nicknamed Tattoo, and takes up the responsibility of thwarting the evil plans. Director R Ravikumar weaves a narrative that not only explores extraterrestrial elements but also delves into the consequences of environmental exploitation.

Humorous Touch:
Ayalaan’s major highlight is its humor, skillfully portrayed through Sivakarthikeyan, Yogi Babu, and Karunakaran. The director incorporates comedic scenes seamlessly, with moments like the cycle chase, reminiscent of other regional films, contributing to the overall entertainment.

Message on Nature:
In a departure from conventional alien movies, Ayalaan subtly addresses environmental issues. The film touches on the impact of plastic pollution, the decomposition time of paper, and the significance of agriculture. Tattoo, the alien, arrives with an understanding of Earth’s environmental intricacies, adding depth to the storyline.

Visual Excellence:
Ayalaan boasts brilliant VFX, elevating the cinematic experience. The first half effectively establishes characters, including the mandatory hero introduction song, reminiscent of director Ravikumar’s previous work in Indru Netru Naalai (2015).

Verdict:
Ayalaan stands out as a captivating sci-fi thriller that combines humor and a strong environmental message. With impressive visual effects and well-executed comedic elements, it successfully delivers on the promise of an entertaining ride.

Short Verdict Quote:
“Ayalaan – A sci-fi extravaganza with humor and heart, delivering an entertaining adventure that transcends galaxies and addresses crucial environmental themes.”
