Mahipal beats Anand to win second title
Mahipal Singh defeated Anand Babu (399-394), in the Finals of the 2nd Nerolac Paint+ Tamil Nadu State Ranking Tenpin Bowling Tournament which concluded at LetsBowl, Thoraipakkam, Chennai today 07th March 2024.
In the Finals played based on the cumulative pinfall of two games, Anand Babu was trailing Mahipal by the thinnest of margins – 1 Pin. In Game 2, Mahipal pipped Anand by 4 Pins to beat Anand by a narrow margin of 5 pins (399-394) and win his second title of the year.
Earlier in the day, in the first Semi-Final played based on the cumulative pinfall of two games, top seed Mahipal Singh defeated fourth seed Akramullah Baig (389-352) in the two-game knockout by a pinfall difference of 37 pins. In the second Semi-Final, second
seed Anand Babu defeated third seed Shabbir Dhankot (427-371) convincingly by a margin of 56 Pins and thereby ensuring his spot in the Finals.
The top 4 bowlers made it to the knock-out round based on cumulative pinfall of 18 games. Mahipal Singh made a stellar comeback in Round3 to lead the pack and finishing
with an average of 220.17 in 18 games, followed by Anand Babu (215.11), Shabbir Dhankot (211.67) and Akramullah Baig (199.56). Mahipal Singh scored a phenomenal block of 6 games with a pinfall of 1408 in Round 3.
