Director Vincent Selva, one of the well-esteemed filmmakers of the Tamil film industry is penning story, screenplay and dialogues for a new-fangled action-crime thriller titled ‘Subramani’. The film features Richard Rishi, who has proved his outstanding calibre as a strong performer in various films including ‘Draupathi’. For the first time, a rare breed of dog ‘Belgian Malinois’, which is used only in military operations, is getting featured in the lead role for this film. The makers have taken scrutinising preparation works in training the dog, where Richard Rishi spent more than a month to develop the bonding. The film will be a racy action crime thriller with unpredictable twists and turns. The film is directed by Rahul Paramahamsa, a former assistant to Vincent Selva, who earlier made the film ‘Jithan 2’. The film’s first schedule is already completed in thick forest area of Kodaikanal and second phase of filming will begin soon, and with this, the entire project gets wrapped up.
Director Vincent Selva, writer of this film, says, “Dogs have been the only animal creatures to have walked on this planet as Man’s best friend. Be it holy scriptures, mythological or historical works, we have found Dogs as best companions to humans. I was literally fascinated looking into the fact that the earliest relationship between a man and a dog dates back to 15,000 years. Besides, I have always found that the world’s topmost filmmakers and writers including Akira Kurosawa, Stephen King, Steven Spielberg and many others have always featured ‘Dogs’ as pivotal roles in their works. For years, I desperately wanted to make a film with this concept, and finally, it came true with ‘Subramani’, featuring a rare breed of ‘Belgian Malinois’ in the lead role. Richard Rishi will be playing a major role in this movie, where both the characters together will leave a deep impact on the audience.”
The film is produced by S. Soundarya of S Productions, and is co-produced by Pronov & Balaji, who are project heads as well.

தமிழ்த் திரையுலகின் புகழ்பெற்ற இயக்குநர்களில் ஒருவரான இயக்குநர் வின்சென்ட் செல்வா தற்போது ‘சுப்ரமணி’ என்ற புதிய ஆக்ஷன்-க்ரைம் த்ரில்லர் படத்திற்கு கதை, திரைக்கதை மற்றும் வசனம் எழுதுகிறார். ‘திரௌபதி’ உள்ளிட்ட பல படங்களில் திறமையான நடிப்பை வெளிப்படுத்திய நடிகர் ரிச்சர்ட் ரிஷி இந்தப் படத்தில் கதாநாயகனாக நடிக்கிறார். ராணுவ நடவடிக்கைகளில் மட்டுமே பயன்படுத்தப்படும் அரியவகை நாய் இனமான ‘பெல்ஜியன் மாலினோயிஸ்’ முதன்முறையாக இந்தப் படத்தில் முக்கிய கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடிக்கிறது. இந்த நாயைப் படத்தில் நடிக்க வைப்பதற்கு ஏற்ப பயிற்சி கொடுத்து வருகின்றனர். இதுமட்டுமல்லாது, நடிகர் ரிச்சர்ட் ரிஷி நாயுடன் ஒரு மாதத்திற்கு மேலாக நேரம் செலவிட்டு பழகி வருகிறார். இப்படம் எதிர்பாராத பல திருப்பங்களைக் கொண்ட இந்தப் படம் ஆக்ஷன் க்ரைம் த்ரில்லராக இருக்கும். முன்னதாக ‘ஜித்தன் 2’ படத்தைத் தயாரித்த வின்சென்ட் செல்வாவின் உதவியாளரான ராகுல் பரமஹம்சா இந்தப் படத்தை இயக்குகிறார். படத்தின் முதல் ஷெட்யூல் ஏற்கனவே கொடைக்கானலில் உள்ள அடர் வனப்பகுதியில் நிறைவடைந்துள்ளது மற்றும் இரண்டாம் கட்ட படப்பிடிப்பு விரைவில் தொடங்கும். இத்துடன் மொத்த படப்பிடிப்பும் நிறைவடைகிறது.
படத்தின் எழுத்தாளரான இயக்குநர் வின்சென்ட் செல்வா பகிர்ந்து கொண்டதாவது, “மனிதனின் சிறந்த நண்பன் நாய்கள் மட்டும்தான். புனித நூல்கள், புராணங்கள், வரலாற்றுப் படைப்புகள் இவற்றில் எல்லாம் நாய்கள்தான் மனிதர்களுக்கு சிறந்த துணையாக இருந்திருக்கின்றனர். ஒரு மனிதனுக்கும் நாய்க்கும் இடையிலான ஆரம்பகால உறவு 15,000 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முந்தையது என்ற உண்மை என்னை ஈர்த்தது. தவிர அகிரா குரோசாவா, ஸ்டீபன் கிங், ஸ்டீவன் ஸ்பீல்பெர்க் உட்பட உலகின் தலைசிறந்த இயக்குநர்கள் மற்றும் எழுத்தாளர்கள் மற்றும் பலர் தங்கள் படைப்புகளில் எப்போதும் ‘நாய்களை’ முக்கியப் கதாபாத்திரங்களாகக் கொண்டு வந்திருப்பதை நான் கவனித்திருக்கிறேன். பல வருடங்களாக, நாயை மையக்கருவாகக் கொண்டு ஒரு திரைப்படத்தை உருவாக்க வேண்டும் என்று நான் விரும்பினேன். அது ‘சுப்ரமணி’ படம் மூலம் நடந்திருக்கிறது. இதில் ‘பெல்ஜியன் மாலினோயிஸ்’ என்ற அரிய இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்த நாய் முதன்மை கதாபாத்திரத்தில் நடித்திருக்கிறது. நடிகர் ரிச்சர்ட் ரிஷி கதாநாயகனாக நடிக்கிறார். இந்த இரண்டு கதாபாத்திரங்களும் பார்வையாளர்களை மனதில் ஆழமான தாக்கத்தை ஏற்படுத்தும்” என்றார்.
