In a seemingly abrupt and one-sided move, a few prominent local cable operators (LCOs) have removed the Zee package from their services. The Arasu network, SCN and the VCK platforms have fully or partially removed Zee channels from their services. This move was made without any prior notice either to the channel operators or the subscribers, many of who have taken to social media to bring the matter to the attention of others and to TRAI. The reason behind this sudden move is not very clear, even though it is rumored to be a dispute regarding discounts and subscription fee. The fact that more than one operator has taken this decision, and that this has happened simultaneously shows that this is a planned move which might be a show of protest or an attempt to put the channel network under pressure to cede to the demands of the operators. As of now, all subscribers of the Arasu and SCN networks are not able to see any of the Zee channels, in spite of having paid the subscription fee, which make the consumer the most affected party in the ongoing tussle between the channel and the operators. The onus is on the cable operators to clarify their position, demands, and the reason behind this sudden move. In the interest of the subscribers, the operators should rightfully restore the channels till the end of the current subscription period and meanwhile negotiate with the channel network to find an amicable settlement. If channels are not restored soon enough, subscribers are bound to ask for refunds from their subscription fees.

Zee channels invisible on SCN and Arasu! Why? Restore or Refund.
