HC judges, police officers, Kollywood celebrities meet and greet school children

As part of its social initiative, the Queen Mira International School (QMIS), Madurai, is taking around 200 students, majority of them are from Corporation and Government schools, onan educational tour to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
To impart practical scientific knowledge to the middle schoolchildren, QMIS, along with a group of its own students, is taking those from the underprivileged sections to ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) at Sriharikota in the Tirupati district of Andhra Pradesh.
The nearly 200-member team, while on its way to Sriharikota, made a stopover in Chennai on Feb 12, where Justices J Nisha Banu and M S Ramesh, the judges of Madras High Court, greeted them. Senior police officers R Thirunavukkarasu, IPS, and A Myilvaganan, lyricist Madhan Karky, pianist Anil Srinivasan of Rhapsody Music Foundation and music composer Jerard Felix also joined the judges in providing the students a warm send-off.
According to Chairman Dr C Chandran, QMIS, in association with M.S. Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation led by well-known psychiatrist Dr C Ramasubramanian, has, as part of executing its social responsibility, decided to provide technical exposure to the disadvantaged students on Space technology. “Hence, we selected skilled students from government-run schools for the ISRO tour through the inter-school competitions, called ‘The Little Emperors’ (TLE), conducted for them a couple of months ago, “he said.
Managing Director Mr Abinath Chandran said the science tour for about 200 children has been arrangedunder the guidance of Dr R Thiruchenthuran, founder-president of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Vision 2020, and upon obtainingdue approvalfrom the ISRO administration and Madurai Corporationand other schoolsconcerned. “We are the first private educational institution in the State to take the students of Corporation, Government, Government-aided and other private schools to the Spaceport of India,” he stated.
All these middle school students who would embark on an ambitious journey are the winners of TLE – Season 8′ hosted by Queen Mira in the last week of November 2022. Inspired by the ISRO Deputy Director R Venkatraman, who is on the school’s advisory board, the school had ‘Space Exploration’ as the theme for the
mega event.
The eighth edition of TLE received an overwhelming response from the schools in Madurai and neighbouring districts. About 40 events including ‘Kural Koorum Kadhaigal’, doodle art, arcimboldo, junior journalist and mime were conducted for various sections from pre-primary to secondary graders.
Academic Director Ms Sujatha Guptan said, the week-long competitions saw the participation of about 6,000 students from over 200 schools, including corporation, government and aided schools, in seven districts – Madurai, Theni, Sivagangai, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram and Tenkasi.
Queen Mira is also the first school in this part of the State to have invited government, aided and corporation schools for the inter-school event and conducted competitions for them exclusively.
As a precursor to the ISRO trip, the school released a lyrical video titled “Vanatha Vellaporom’, penned by Madhan Karky to the music scored by Jerard Felix, on its campus on the 13th of January with both the Kollywood personalities as chief guests. It is a ‘Space Anthem’ created as a tribute to ISRO andto inspire and motivate schoolchildren to become space scientists in future. The ‘Space Anthem’ was formally launched in the presence of special guests during the send-off ceremony in Chennai on Sunday.
The field visit to the government Spaceport will further ignite the participating students’ passion to pursue higher studies and careers in Astronomy and Space Science and help develop an interest in Space Technology.
The children who the Queen Mira International School is taking for the ISRO exposure visit include those from the Madurai Corporation schools in Krishnapuram Colony and Sundararajapuram and Ponmudiyar and Navalar Somasundara Bharathiar Corporation higher secondary schools among others.

சென்னை, பிப்ரவரி 12: மதுரை குயின் மீரா சர்வதேசப் பள்ளி தனது சமூகப் பணிகளில் ஒரு பகுதியாக சுமார் இருநூறு மாணவர்களை ஸ்ரீஹரிகோட்டாவில் உள்ள இந்திய விண்வெளி ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனத்திற்கு (இஸ்ரோ) அழைத்துச் செல்கிறது. அதில் பெரும்பாலானோர் மாநகராட்சி மற்றும் அரசு பள்ளிகளில் படிக்கும் மாணவர்கள் ஆவர்.
இடைநிலைப்பள்ளி குழந்தைகளுக்கு பாரபட்சமின்றி நடைமுறை அறிவியல் அறிவை வழங்கும் நோக்கத்தில், குயின் மீரா பள்ளி தனது சிறு மாணவர் குழுவுடன் சேர்த்து பொருளாதாரத்தில் பின்தங்கிய சூழலில் படிக்கும் அரசு மற்றும் மாநகராட்சி பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் பலரையும் தனது செலவில் ஆந்திரப்பிரதேச மாநிலம் ஸ்ரீஹரிகோட்டாவில் அமைந்துள்ள இஸ்ரோவின் சதீஷ் தவான் விண்வெளி மையத்திற்கு கல்விப் பயணமாக அழைத்துச் செல்கிறது.
ஏறக்குறைய 200 பேர் கொண்ட குழுவினர் பிப்ரவரி 12-ம் தேதி ஸ்ரீஹரிகோட்டாவிற்கு செல்லும் வழியில் சென்னையில் நிறுத்திய போது சென்னை உயர் நீதிமன்ற நீதிபதிகள் ஜெ. நிஷா பானு மற்றும் எம்.எஸ் ரமேஷ், காவல்துறை உயர் அதிகாரிகள் ஆர். திருநாவுக்கரசு IPS, ஏ. மயில்வாகணன், பாடலாசிரியர் மதன் கார்க்கி, இசையமைப்பாளர்கள் அனில் சீனிவாசன் மற்றும் ஜெரார்ட் ஃபெலிக்ஸ் ஆகியோர் மாணவர்களை சந்தித்து வாழ்த்துகளை தெரிவித்து வழி அனுப்பி வைத்தனர்.
இஸ்ரோ பயணம் பற்றி பள்ளி தலைவர் டாக்டர் சி. சந்திரன் கூறும்போது, தனது சமூகப் பொறுப்பு செயல்பாடுகளில் ஒன்றாக, குயின் மீரா சர்வதேசப் பள்ளி நன்கு அறியப்பட்ட மனநல மருத்துவர் டாக்டர் சி ராமசுப்ரமணியன் தலைமையிலான செல்லமுத்து அறக்கட்டளை மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி நிறுவனத்துடன் இணைந்து, சமூகப்பொருளாதார நிலையில் பின்தங்கிய மாணவர்களும் விண்வெளி தொழில்நுட்பங்களை தெரிந்து கொள்ள இஸ்ரோ பயணத்தை ஏற்பாடு செய்துள்ளது. இதற்காக ‘தி லிட்டில் எம்பரர்ஸ்’ (TLE) எனும் விளையாட்டு மற்றும் கலைத்திறன் போட்டிகளை அவர்களுக்காக பிரத்யேகமாக நடத்தி அதன் மூலம் திறமையானவர்களை தேர்ந்தெடுத்து அழைத்துச் செல்கிறோம் என்றார்.
இஸ்ரோ நிர்வாகம், மதுரை மாநகராட்சி மற்றும் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட பள்ளிகளின் உரிய ஒப்புதலுடன், டாக்டர் ஏபிஜே அப்துல் கலாம் விஷன் 2020 நிறுவனர் டாக்டர் ஆர் திருச்செந்தூரான் அவர்களின் வழிகாட்டுதலில் இந்த முயற்சியை மேற்கொண்டுள்ளோம். மாநகராட்சி, அரசு, அரசு உதவி பெறும் மற்றும் பிற தனியார் பள்ளிகளில் பயிலும் மாணவர்களை இஸ்ரோவிற்கு அழைத்துச் செல்லும் முதல் தனியார் கல்வி நிறுவனம் என்பதில் பெருமை கொள்கிறோம், என்றார் நிர்வாக இயக்குநர் அபிநாத் சந்திரன்.
பள்ளியின் ஆலோசனைக் குழு உறுப்பினராக இருக்கும் இஸ்ரோ சதீஷ் தவான் விண்வெளி மைய துணை இயக்குநர் ஆர். வெங்கட்ராமன் அவர்களால் ஈர்க்கப்பட்டு, ‘விண்வெளி ஆய்வு’ எனும் கருப்பொருளை மையமாகக் கொண்டு TLE-யில் சுமார் நாற்பது போட்டிகள் நடத்தப்பட்டன. சென்ற வருடம் நவம்பர் மாத இறுதியில் ஒரு வார காலம் நடத்தப்பட்ட இப்போட்டிகளில் வெற்றி பெற்ற வெவ்வேறு பள்ளிகளைச் சேர்ந்த 6 முதல் எட்டாம் வகுப்பு படிக்கும் மாணவர்கள் இஸ்ரோ பயணத்திற்கு தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
கல்வி இயக்குநர் சுஜாதா குப்தன் கூறும் போது, அருகில் உள்ள ஏழு மாவட்டங்களில் (மதுரை, திண்டுக்கல், தேனி, சிவகங்கை ராமநாதபுரம், விருதுநகர் மற்றும் தென்காசி)
இருந்து இருநூற்றுக்கும் மேற்பட்ட பள்ளிகளில் படிக்கும் சுமார் 6000 மாணவர்கள் நாங்கள் நடத்திய கலைத்திறன் போட்டிகளில் பங்குபெற்றனர். முதல்முறையாக பிற தனியார் பள்ளிகளுடன் மாநகராட்சி, அரசு மற்றும் அரசு உதவிபெறும் பள்ளிகளுக்கும் அழைப்பு விடுக்கப்பட்டு அம்மாணவர்களும் போட்டிகளில் கலந்து கொண்டு பரிசுகள் வென்றனர், என்றார்.
இஸ்ரோ பயணத்தை முன்னிட்டு ஜனவரி 13-ஆம் தேதி பள்ளி வளாகத்தில் ‘வானத்த வெல்லப்போறோம்’ என்ற காணொளிப் பாடலை அதை எழுதிய பாடலாசிரியர் மதன் கார்க்கியும் அதற்கு இசையமைத்துள்ள இளம் இசையமைப்பாளர் ஜெரார்ட் ஃபெலிக்சும் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்களாகக் கலந்துகொண்டு மாணவர்கள் மத்தியில் வெளியிட்டனர். இஸ்ரோவிற்கு மரியாதை செலுத்தும் வகையிலும் பள்ளி மாணவர்கள் எதிர்காலத்தில் விண்வெளி விஞ்ஞானிகளாகத் திகழ்வதற்கு ஊக்கமளிக்கும் வகையிலும் இந்த ‘விண்வெளி கீதம்’ உருவாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. சென்னையில் ஞாயிற்றுக்கிழமை நடைபெற்ற வழியனுப்பு விழாவின் போது சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்கள் முன்னிலையில் ‘விண்வெளி கீதம்’ முறைப்படி வெளியிடப்பட்டது.
இந்த அறிவியல் பயணத்தை மேற்கொள்ளும் மாணவர்களில் கிருஷ்ணாபுரம் காலனி மற்றும் சுந்தரராஜபுரத்தில் உள்ள மதுரை மாநகராட்சிப் பள்ளிகளைச் சேர்ந்தவர்களும் பொன்முடியார் மற்றும் நாவலர் சோமசுந்தர பாரதியார் மாநகராட்சி மேல்நிலைப் பள்ளிகளைச் சேர்ந்த மாணவர்களும் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளனர்.
