We take pleasure in informing your goodself that, Abbas Cultural’s Kalai Vizha – is a flagship cultural event of Abbas for the last 31 years. When it was started, Dr.K.J.Yesudas, who is the mentor of this Kalai Vizha, had aptly suggested to have this classical cultural event towards the conclusion of the Margazhi music season and towards the beginning of the new year.
As every year this year’s Kalai Vizha, includes top Carnatic exponents like Vishakha Hari, Sudha Ragunathan, Nithyashree Mahadevan, Ranjani & Gayathri, Unnikrishnan & Uthara, Rajesh Vaidhya, Cine Classical by SPB Charan, Devotional songs by Soorya Gayathri, Rahul Vellal to name a few. Also features astonishing dance dramas by renowned dance Gurus like Anitha Guha & Nandini Suresh.
Kalai Vizha 2024 is happenning at Kamarajar Arangam Teynampet,Chennai on 6th & 7th January and from 13th to 17th January 2024 (Overall 7 days). Daily 3 concerts are planned at 2.00 pm,4.00pm and 7.00 p.m. as detailed below:
Honourable Justice Shri R. Mahadevan has kindly consented to be our chief guest and inaugurate the seven day Art Festival. Other guests of honour for the inaugural function are Shri K.Shankar IPS,(Commissioner of Police- Avadi Chennai), Shri KVK.Sriram IPS, (DIG – CISF,Chennai Airport ), Shri Murali Malaiappan (Chairman & MD of Shriram Properties), Shri B.Ramani, (Divisional Manager -Besten Pumps), Smt. Anitha Guha, Bharathanatyam exponent.
The 2.00pm performances are entry free and the 4.00pm and 7.00pm are ticketed.
