“Silent” – A poignant thriller shedding light on the struggles of the transgender community!

A silent yet powerful thriller that strikes deep!

A decent thriller crafted with the hard work of fresh talents!

Produced by S. Ram Prakash under SR Dream Studios and directed by Ganesh Pandey, Silent features a screenplay and dialogues by Samayamurali. The movie hit the screens across Tamil Nadu today.

With a cast comprising mostly newcomers, Silent delivers a surprising cinematic treat for the audience.

The story begins with the murder of a woman. As the police start their investigation, more murders follow. The suspect appears to be a woman named Bhuvaneshwari, but it’s later revealed that Bhuvaneshwari is actually Bhuvanesh, a man. The gripping question is whether the police catch him and uncover the truth behind the murders.

The film raises a critical question: has society truly embraced all genders? Despite advancing as a modern society, our perception of transgender individuals hasn’t evolved much. Silent compellingly addresses this issue, making it a thought-provoking cinematic piece.

Director Ganesh Pandey has chosen a bold and relevant theme, delivering it without compromising the intrigue. Despite minor first-film shortcomings, the movie leaves the audience satisfied with a well-crafted narrative.

Samayamurali’s screenplay is masterfully written, weaving a seamless flow of murders and investigations that keep the audience engaged. His portrayal as a police officer is commendable.

Interestingly, Ganesh Pandey not only directed but also played the dual role of Bhuvaneshwari/Bhuvanesh. His performance, especially as an actor, shines brilliantly.

The supporting cast, including Mathiyazhagan, actress Aaradhya, Thoppi fame Murali Radhakrishnan, Bigg Boss Namitha, and Marimuthu, have delivered commendable performances, adding depth to the narrative.

Despite a low budget, Seyon Murali’s cinematography compensates impressively. The editing is decent.

Samayamurali’s music stands out as a highlight. It doesn’t feel like the work of a debutant; the songs are well-composed and enjoyable, with the background score elevating the overall experience.

The story and screenplay remain watertight, but traces of initial production hurdles and budget constraints are visible. These minor flaws could have been polished further for a more refined output.

While thrillers are not new to Tamil cinema, Silent stands out as a decent addition that leaves viewers content.

A film worth watching for its unique approach and sincere storytelling.
