Loyola Alumni Association (LAA) & Loyola College organise “Loyola Centenary Conclave” on the 28th February 2025 (Friday) to celebrate a century of academic excellence and set the tone for the next hundred years.
Loyola College, Chennai – 600 034 commemorates the 100th year of its education ministry.
Founded in 1925 by Rev. Fr. Bertram SJ, Loyola College has emerged as a beacon of academic excellence in India. Ever since its inception, it has imparted quality education, offered civic and political leadership formation, focused on education for those at the margins, maintained economic and environmental justice, and fostered secularism and peace. Recognized as a “College of Excellence” by the Government of India, this autonomous institution boasts a rich history of nurturing exceptional talent across diverse fields.
Over the past century, Loyola has produced a remarkable lineage of alumni who have excelled in science, research, academia, business, sports, and many other domains. Loyola Alumni Association (LAA), with over 60,000 members, stands as a testament to this enduring legacy. Loyola has nurtured several alumni to imbibe the core values of Jesuit education and enabled them to translate those values into concrete actions. Justice K. During the centenary year, Loyola has planned a number of programmes to enhance the
academic excellence and to reinvigorate its social responsibility to the society. The theme of the Centenary Conclave is the Enduring Value of Liberal Arts and Sciences & Fostering Innovation and Employability. About 800 invited participants comprising Head of academic institutions both colleges & leading schools, faculty from fellowship Arts & Science colleges, distinguished Loyola Alumni, government officials & policy makers involved with education,
Industry connect organizations like FIEO, FICCI, CII & MSME and members from the media
attend the programme.
