A powerful, grounded film receives the nation’s highest honor in regional cinema for – Best Regional Movie Tamil, Best Screenplay for Ramkumar Balakrishnan, and Best Supporting Actor Male – MS Bhaskar.
Soldiers Factory K.S. Sinish & Passion Studios Sudhan Sundaram’s critically-acclaimed and commercially successful movie Parking, directed by debutant Ramkumar Balakrishnan, starring Harish Kalyan in lead role, has been awarded the Best Regional Movie in Tamil, Best Screenplay Awards, (shared with Telugu movie Baby) and Best Supporting Male Actor for MS Bhaskar, at the 71st National Film Awards, announced today by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
Jointly produced by K. S. Sinish of Soldiers Factory and Sudhan Sundaram of Passion Studios, Parking was widely appreciated upon release for its intense and relatable narrative, rooted in an everyday conflict that evolves into a gripping psychological drama. The film stars Harish Kalyan, M. S. Bhaskar, and Indhuja Ravichandran in lead roles.

Parking tells the story of Eshwar, a newly married IT professional, and his pregnant wife who move into a duplex apartment, only to enter into an escalating conflict with their downstairs neighbour, Ilamparuthi, over a shared parking space. What begins as a minor disagreement soon turns into a study of pride, power, and psychological unraveling, a sharp commentary on contemporary urban coexistence.
The film was released in theatres on December 1, 2023, to strong critical acclaim and later premiered on Disney+ Hotstar.
