Foundation and Early Journey
Founded in 1981 by industrialist Mr. C.M. Kamaraj, Sakthi Coco Products began as Sakthi Coir Exports, the first mechanized coir export business in Tamil Nadu. Coming from a farming family in Pollachi, Mr. Kamaraj revolutionized the processed coconut industry by combining his MBA and business acumen. Early collaborations, such as with Britannia (1983), helped establish Sakthi Coco Products as a trusted supplier of high-quality desiccated coconut.
Innovation and Growth
In 2002, Sakthi Coco Products added value to what was once waste—coir dust—by transforming it into coco peat, a growing medium for horticulture. Developed with Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), this breakthrough made Sakthi Coco Products the first Indian company to export coco peat to Europe and Australia.
In 2003, Sakthi Coco Products became the first Indian company to introduce bottled tender coconut water. With initial technical challenges met through support from the Coconut Development Board and the Defence Food Research Laboratory, the company now produces 100,000 bottles/tetra packs of long-shelf-life tender coconut water daily.
Recognition and Leadership
Mr. C.M. Kamaraj’s forward thinking has led to an 18-year tenure as a board member for India’s Coconut and Coir Boards. His accolades include:

1981-ல் திரு காமராஜ் சி.எம்.(Mr.C.M.Kamaraj) எனும் தொழில்துறை திறனாளரால் நிறுவப்பட்ட SCP(Sakthi Coco Products ) தமிழ்நாட்டின் முதல் இயந்திரமயமாக்கப்பட்ட தென்னை நார் ஏற்றுமதி (Sakthi Coir Exports) துவங்கியது. பொள்ளாச்சி விவசாயக் குடும்பத்திலிருந்து வந்த காமராஜ், தனது MBA மற்றும் தொழில் நுண்ணறிவைப் பயன்படுத்தி தேங்காய் பதப்படுத்தும் துறையில் புரட்சியை ஏற்படுத்தினார். பிரிட்டானியா போன்ற பிஸ்கட் தயாரிப்பாளர்களுடனான (1983) ஆரம்பகால ஒத்துழைப்புகள், SCP-யின் தரமான தேங்காய் தூளுக்கு நற்பெயரை நிலைநாட்டியது.

2002-ல், SCP கழிவுப் பொருளான கோர் தூசை (coir dust) மதிப்புள்ள கோகோ பீட் (Coco Peat) ஆக மாற்றியது . இது தோட்டக்கலையில் மண்ணுக்கு மாற்றாக பயன்படுகிறது. தமிழ்நாடு வேளாண்மைப் பல்கலைக்கழகத்துடன் (TNAU) இணைந்து உருவாக்கப்பட்ட இந்த கண்டுபிடிப்பு, SCP-யை ஐரோப்பா மற்றும் ஆஸ்திரேலியாவிற்கு இந்தியாவின் முதல் கோகோ பீட் ஏற்றுமதியாளராக மாற்றியது.
2003-ல், SCP இந்தியாவில் பாட்டில் மூலம் இளநீர் விற்பனையை அறிமுகப்படுத்திய முதல் நிறுவனமாகும். தொடக்கநிலை தொழில்நுட்ப சவால்களை தேங்காய் வளர்ச்சி வாரியம் (CDB) மற்றும் பாதுகாப்பு உணவு ஆராய்ச்சி ஆய்வகத்தின் (DFRL) உதவியுடன் சமாளித்து, தற்போது நாள்தோறும் 1,00,000 பாட்டில்கள்/டெட்ரா பாக்கெட்டுகள் நீண்ட காலம் பாதுகாக்கக்கூடிய இளநீரை தயாரிக்கிறது.
